Would a crossover solve this?

I've got 2 tweeters and 2 door speakers being powered by the same set of wires coming from my head unit. When I'm listening to music and the person says a word that has an "S" in it, the tweeters really pick it up, and it sounds like crap. I don't have a crossover and have never really had the extra money to buy one, but if it's what will fix this problem then I guess I could get one. Is not having a crossover my problem?

i really think that would be a solution.... my freind did the same thing speaker wise and once he added the X-over it really helped balance things out a bit....

the cross over is something that is really a must when using tweets!!

hope it helped some //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well everyone around here does it like that. The local shop even installs them like that. Most people never blow them, but some do. When I buy a crossover I'll probably buy new tweeters too. What's a good cheap crossover?

Active or passive?? If you are going passive, be careful, you can't just hook up any tweeter on a passive and expect it too sound good (especially since putting a 8ohm tweet on a passive xover designed for a 4ohm tweeter will change the xover point, and vise versa).

euaaa...confusion...I don't know much about tweeters. I think the ones I have are 8ohm...and I owned a pair of tweeters before these that had a little box connected to the wire that came with it...I guess that was a crossover, I dunno.
