Would a capacitor make a difference?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place on this forum but I didn't see a Capacitor section so... anyways. If I'm running a RF 325.1 to 2 12s and it's dimming my lights and killing my battery, would a capacitor help? I know you are 'supposed' to only use them on systems ranging from 1000+ watts, but would it make a difference on mine?

The reason we don't have a cap section is because they are completely useless. There are plenty of threads on here that explain in detail why that is true. Long story short, caps hold so little power that they are no where near as effective as a good AGM/deep cycle battery. I suggest doing the "big 3" first (there is also a thread about this).

I've thought of the Big 3. Is it worth doing? My lights don't dim much and as long as the car is running the battery is fine...should I still do it?

If it is killing your battery you got a weak battery go buy a big gel battery, I highly doubt that amp is outputing more than your alternator is capable of handleing, I'd recommend a better battery and the Big 3 upgrade. That is all.

No I'm saying like back when I had my Dodge with a system, it could run for a while without the car running. Like I said, if it's running the battery is fine, it doesn't kill it. It just dies pretty fast if it's not running and it shouldn't be pulling that much power since it's just a 300 watt system lol

Caps = Crap

Fixing your dimming issue - do to list in order:

1. Do the Big 3

2. Get a HO Alt

3. Get a deep cycle battery

As for your system not running for long with the car off. The only solution is to put multiple batteries in your vehicle.

Ugh... playing system with car off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif do big 3.
