Worst rap line?

talking about caddies, getting laid, high, drunk has been around since the early 90's its nothing new dipshit.
So, in 15 years rappers haven't been able to come up with anything better to talk about? Writting lyrics about caddies, getting laid, high and drunk isn't exactly genius material to begin with, much less to persist with it for 15 yrs.........

I think rap has made a turn for the worst, thats why i don listen to the radio anymore!!
Rap has NEVER been good in my opinion, I say my opinion because I define rap, from any time period, as having the types of lyrics you describe, or basically any track that there is obviously much more effort put into the beat than put into the lyrics is rap to me. Because of my definition of rap, it has never been "good", just entertaining at times. What you may be reffering to in "taking a turn for the worse" is the illusion of a transition from HIP-HOP into rap. This isnt true, even if it may seem so. Rap and hip-hop have been around for decades as two seperate forms of music, neither has changed much really, rap has just recently taken the spotlight from hip-hop, thus you have to do a little searching for hip-hop, it wont be on the radio/MTV much. I just think its really important to make a distinction between rap and hip-hop.

rap has always superseded hip hop. eazy e,. doc dre, all them back in the day were rap. noone old skool i like.....other than biggy/pac/grand masta flash. and biggy/pac arent even "old skool" they were WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY ahead of their time. if u listen to Indie Rap, its more than getting drunk and drivin caddies, its about life and love, and they write whole songs talkin about a subject in different context than that of how it happened. take "Atpmosphere-bird songs sing whatever" for example. listen to the lyrics, youll here him talkin bout a "bird" but hes speakin about a girl. now for something that is actually listening worthy, not just hearing worthy. immortal technique "you may never know" this is prolly my favorite song out right now. yes its all on love and tragedy and all, but it puts it in the eyes of how it happened, it defines the feelings, then it goes to tell a story. somewhat like dance with the devils. if u want REAL hip-hop listen to common, mos def, talib kweli, all of blackstar honestly, and there are others, i believe saul williams is one personally. i love his work. i love my indie rap scene becuz of the style and lyrics. its not something u can bump to down the street and get crazy but hey......thats not me. i also like the shit that makes u think. another view i like is the brutal view. "dead body disposal"-necro "dance with thed evils"-imm. tech. all of necro is this view pretty much. i havent heard a radio song in 4 months, didnt even know 50 cent had a new album till today.

yea ive really gotten into the "underground" (i guess you can call it that) hip hop scene lately, immortal tech, jean grae, JMT, canibus stuff like that. As saywhat? said, those lyrics are really make you think and say "hmmm....". I never heard 1-2 step until last month. Im behind on the corporate scene.

Dont try to school me on indie rap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif , I've been to more Atmosphere concerts than anybody should ever go to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif (but then again I was raised right outside minneapolis) "Indie rap" to me IS hip-hop. I think the song you're refering to is "Bird Sings WHy The Cage I know" off their newest album, Im not so much a fan of it, I loved Lucy Ford and God Loves Ugly alot better than Sevens Travels. I'm also quite disapointed with Talib's most recent effort, alot of good songs, but too many stupid "trying to create a single for MTV to make money" songs aswell. Blackstar was a great duo, they should have kept that up, love that CD, Definition is one of my favorite all time tracks. Same goes with Mos Def's latest CD, not nearly as good as Black on Both Sides... but decent.

Good call on the Slob on my Knob.

"Slob on my knob, like corn on the cob, check in wit me, and do ya job.

Lay on the bed, and give me head, dont have to ax, dont have to beg"

And there is something in there about licking on hit butt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif which has kept me from ever listening past that.
