I can't stress enough trhat *Proper Termination* of the cable lugs is *Very Important*.And I highly recommend the use of *Adhesive Dual Wall Shrink Tube*.

Yes,It costs alittle more but it rewards you*10/Fold* down the road!!!.Done properly,there will

be NO:*Moisture* getting into the cable & lug connection.NO: Dirt/Road Salt/Etc. getting in it

either.and is 100/Times better than Electrical Tape,I've had:*Zero Electrical Problems* since

approximately 2006.Also...*Use High Quality Cable Ties and Route Neatly and Securely*!!

Use *Heavy Duty Black Cable Ties* w/120 Lbs.Tensile Strength[Written On Package Lable],when

doing the 1/0 Cable,under your hood.Use Loom or Good,tright Weave Expandable Sleeving.

I was reading some posts, your lights don't dim because your alt cant keep up with voltage LOL HA HA.. Your alt puts out a constant Voltage LOL! What it cant keep up with is the amperage with in it puts it out the voltage... thats why a cap will show a drop in voltage ONLY because your amperage drops, so it sees less volts coming from the alt.. there is a big difference..

First do the big 3, while doing that but a nice battery under the hood..

Now.. heres the key part.. adding a second battery will infact do you no good as your alt wont be able to keep up, but what you can use is a CAPCELL, its a fusion of CAP in terms of the way it recharges quickly and discharges quickly, but holds amperage and volts as a battery would. It is essentially a battery but designed like a cap.. Fast discharge/recharge...

So with that said, you can infact add a Capcell to suppliment your amperage that your alt is lacking, but you cant go crazy.. a 800 series capcell will discharge 800 amps in an 8 second period.. so that means once the 800 amps are used up they are gone if your alt cant recharge it quick enough, and chances are it wont be able too, it will drain your battery of what amps it has.. so your not gonna be able to go crazy adding a bunch of extra amps..

what you can do is, here are the specs.. 800 W/Rms will consume around 80 amps (depending on the class of the amp and the design) but norm is 10amps for every 100 w of power.. so if you do the math, if you charge up a 800amp capcell it will supply the amps you need to run your system, at a rate of aprox 80amps/sec for 10 sec's

So with all that stuff said above, as far as the numbers go, listening to music you should be able to run with no dimming lights for the most part.. your alt should be able to keep up the charge as the Main battery and Capcell will discharge during musical peaks..

You may have dim during extendended musical peaks, or while listening to hardcore bass sweeps, but for most everyday driver type music you should be ok.. just remember dont go overboard with it.. The battery and Capcell can only will recharge inbetween musical peaks.. depending on teh type of music you listen too..

I don't actually have to. Everyone knows that a capcell is nothing special. It's just a marketing gimick. It is not a hybrid of a cap and a batt. It looks to be 6 1 farad capacitors wired in parallel.

Also, when there is too much current drawn, the alternator's regulator lowers the output voltage to protect the alternator. These sentences didn't need to be typed as everyone already knew it. Please stop spreading your misinformation. There is already way too much of it on this site.

honestly, with only 800wrms, you should be fine just upgrading the hood battery and doing the big 3. Once you cross that 1kw line though, i'd look into at least a second battery, and possibly even a better alt.

Actually lets do some more math here..

My amp's max amp draw is 140 amps, my max power is 1400 w.. sooooo.... every 100 w takes 10amps to produce.. pretty simple..

My alt pushing 130 at 2,000 rotations at the shaft.. in the current con-fig im pulling about 78 amps for my main amp, and 20 amps for my second amp.. My car pulls about 60amps excluding radio, (only about 5 amps) my bat has a reserve power of 120amp CA of 1000 and CCA 800 the CAPCELL i wound up buying can discharge 800 amps @ 8 seconds, but real discharge is 50% at 400amps... so the capcell is infact supplying the extra power needed i need to run.. I have no dimming lights while listening to music not bass mekanik music but everyday driver music..... so proof as far as I am concerned is the pudding..

It works for me.. I see a difference between having no Capcell and having the capcell.. during musical peaks the power does not drop below 14V to the amp..

The capcell is way much better than a CAP.. a CAPCELL is jell filled just like the car audio bats, with the exception it is no where as good as a second battery.. and stores power and amperage much like a battery.

But you must have an upgraded alt for the second bat.. which defeats the point, for an everyday driver... so infact a CAPCELL is a much better way than a CAP aka CrAP but admit it is not as good as a battery.. but will in fact help someone like this guy.. with his power problem..

So think what you what.. I thought the way you did too, I asked the question though even at the risk of looking like a retard on another thread.. but I took a change.. after doing teh math and research on CAPS, CAPCELLS vs upgrading alt and second bat.

The CAPCELL is not a fix all.. and is not intended to be able to keep up during musical peaks lasting longer than 8 seconds.. its designed to deliver the power at short peaks and recharge in between peaks.. unlike a batt that has a slowwww recharge rate.. but store much more energy than a CrAP

So long story short the CAPCELL is providing the extra little bit of power i need for my amp to run with out straining for power.. so everyone can think what they want and make useless insults over the internet LOLZ but fact be told for someone that just needs alittle more power.. with out upgrading the alt, the CAPCELL can supply a little extra power.. it does on in my case..

and dont worry you dont have to waste time about how further retarded I am.. the math adds up.. no matter what you try to say against it.. its the internet, my word against you, my math based off technical data, vs your opinion.. who cares.. keep your dumb insults to your self...and I'm not going to waste any more of my time reading these posts.. Actually its from JBL's Engineer.. because i was tring to find an ALT to upgrade too and needed to know what i was pulling and that was their formula for their amp.. so what do i go by, an electrical engineer that supports the product or the local car audio guy that trys to sell Legacy amps as "the best on the market" or go by some random person that calls me an dumbass when he his self knows nothing about where i pulled the formula from..
