woofersetc.com has blowout on CDT speakers

.. so what I am looking for is something with strong mid-bass that can still be heard in a convertible, along with a good sub that is in the driver's side footwell.
I know you can't go wrong with the Diamond Audio Hex series as a solid set for ~$200.00.

I don't mind spending more, but I want to get my money's worth. So if I spend $500, I expect at least twice the bass and same level of tweeters rather than just 10% //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Get it?

Thanks guys, I'm a newbie.. so I am probably asking very stupid questins :p
You arent gonna get twice the performance of hex's for $500 i dont even think you will get twice their output at $1000....

The hex are really nice speakers but i've heard the HEX in a friens car that got loud but I felt that the midbass wsn't enough for me.

maybe you should look into HERTZ or RAINBOWs mid to higher ines to find something with a stronger midbass, maybe you should drive to find shop that may carry one of these products,Like i did even if you'll have to drive 100miles.

I was like you because i was looking for something special which i think i found in my car without having to make cut or showing off my gear.

I drive on the freeway a lot with my windows down (only in nice weather), but i wanted to find something that played clear & loud with some SQ to them, which i thik these newer cdt es62i are very nice.

I will agree the older yellow es620 line sucked ***, which i felt like cdt ripped my off, but i complained much at them that tell replaced my older speakers with this newer 62i black cone.

yes i think they are very nice, plus there customer service is one of the best i think in cau audio.

I hope this info helped you some.

just be careful about peoples negative opions on what is good or not good it's about your ear, not ours.

good luck

Wow, leave the fan boy tirade at home please, and don't start a sentence with "your an idiot" and the misspell both "You're" and "idiot"
Epic Fail...

and for the thread I was never impressed by CDT either...
funny how you read it just fine.... if they fail to impress you you 1 have a lack of instalation skilll, 2 don't know what good sounding speakers sound like.

i have heard alot of sets... all have a unique sound.. the FGs are a bit strong in the midrange and have very good midbass in the correct alignment. i have yet to find a set that didn't need EQing along with having the proper imaging and aligment... you might get a bit better off axis response in other sets(active) but all of CDTs mids sound excellent on axis, and the tweeters are nice as well never harsh... im just not going to stand back while people bad mouth a good company... alot of other companies are over-priced hyped and over-rated.. every CDT set i owned and heard was bettter than alot of speakers on the market...

Epic Fail? maybe you failed to properly install the speakers...

After further review, I think I'm going to pass too.. too many mixed reviews and some downright horrible ones.
Right now, the top contender to beat is the Diamond Audio HEX S600 series for $200.00

Can someone talk me out of them? I'm willing to pay more for something rock sold, but.. like not to spend $500, and maybe $1000 if you can really convince me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The key thing that might help is bass. This will go in a convertible. I have a sub, but bass is hard to feel at high rate of speed , haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I'll pass on the Hex's...

Horrible midbass... mediocrity everywhere else. This was in a deadened door and 200watts per side...

when we first started reassembling the truck after paint, i had my 7", 3" and tweets hooked up, but not my subwoofers yet. had to drive the truck home for some reason and just had those running and the 7" put out a surprising amount of bass, i was shocked. of course, not in comparison to subwoofers, but for what they are, they're impressive.
asking for opinions on car audio is kind of worthless, since everyone has their personal preferences on setups (SQ vs. SPL) and brands (i.e. CDT vs. Focal), but for an SQ setup, i would say CDT is some of the best equipment for the price and warranty.

^^^where
for 200 the hex is a nice set, but if yoyur just dropping them in factory locations i would probably look into something along the lines of the RE XXXs both the CDTs and HEXs sound alot better on axis in about .25 sealed xover around 70-90hz most people expect a 2 way midrange to drop to 65hz with blazing output and truth is with 125 watts and that wide a band width your not going to find any speaker to do it and sound excellent in a stock "drop-in" installation..

Never understood why CDT have 50 million models.
they have some crazy guy sitting in their design department coming up with new models just off of a new color and other small stuff

i dont know either lol just an idea.... they all look the same to me too

http://www.cdtaudio.com/pdf/ES-6_07.pdflook into these i bet most guy on this forum have never even heard these before, which i think have plenty of midbass.
I believe those are the mids I have...
