Wiring My Crossover

I've never done car audio work before but the front door speakers in my 02 Sierra quit on me, so I decided to upgrade to component speakers.

The factory set-up consists of a whoofer and a tweeter, so I'm confused about hooking up the crossover. I thought I would have had one wire coming from the stereo, but instead I have two that branch out from the wire bundle that's in the door. I considered removing all the electrical tape from the bundle so I could see how the wires are hooked up, but I'm not sure if that's necessary.

not to thread jack but if youre amping the comps you dont need to use the input on the crossover to run to the factory wires you just run tem to the amp from the CROSSOVER INPUT???? RIGHT?

From the reading I've done, I believe the wiring is as follows: HU to Amp to Crossover to Speakers

Again, I'm a novice, so double check that.
