wiring a 1ohm fi bl at 1ohm

i got the universal option on my sub so im not completely screwed, i can switch out the 1ohm coil for a 2ohm one, but i cant really seem to find where to buy just the coil.
That's because you can't.

You would need to send it in to Scott @ Fi for a complete recone if you wanted to "change" that sub's impedance..

Try possibly e-mailing Scott & see if he'll allow you to return your D1 subwoofer in exchange for a D2 subwoofer (instead of reconing the sub you have)? If you haven't used the subwoofer, this might be a possibility. But ofcourse, is completely up to Scott and his return policy.

And frankly, if I am wrong I would rather it be pointed out. Im a big boy and can handle it.
It was probably something with the server. However if it was deleted, I don't want it to be pointed out to me since I am not a big boy and I can't handle it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hitbybrick.gif.68a672fae224041f00769a97c2c1bf2d.gif

Well big boy; there are NO deleted posts in this thread.

So before you go getting smart about how the mod staff couldn't handle all of your intelligence.....maybe realize that this forum is ran by a software program just like any other computer based application and sometimes gliches happen...which is apparently the case if you posted in this thread and it's not here.

Mmmkay ?

I said that because that FI sub is not a true 1 ohm sub that it will wire to .35 or 1.5 and it was deleted.
And you are wrong.

.7ohm is the Re, not the nominal impedance. The nominal impedance is 1ohm.

Two different things.

Maybe now you're ready to progress from diapers to pull-ups ?

I was wondering what deleted post he was talking about, too.

After a post is deleted you can't see the post, obviously, but you can see which post it followed and which mod deleted it ~ and there's no such box ^^^ saying anything of the sort. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I lied, Cant handle it

*goes to get gun....

Thanks for the clarification though. Because I sense no sarcasm in your post I wonder why the hostility?

Obviously there was a glitch. I posted and bassace posted quoting me and another member PMed me asking why my post was deleted, so it WAS here if only for a short time.

You have three options;
1) wire it to .5ohm and hope impedance rise keeps you on the safe side. You would, however, void your warranty should the amplifier become damaged.

2) Wire it to 2ohm giving you 600w to the subwoofer.

3) Purchase either a different amplifier or another SAE-1000D and run one per coil.

You should have done better planning before purchasing the equipment.

The server has been acting up lately, I've been getting a lot of "Too busy at the moment" messages.

Anywho, squeak is correct.

Please stop confusing the n00bx, that are already thoroughly confused to begin with.

kthnx.
