ok so im building a wall in a acura integra.

4 15" orion hcca dual 2ohm subs

i planned on doing 4 precision power 21400 power class amps. one amp per sub. but there so old school that i cant find the amps, ive got 3 so far and one is busted, so im going to send it back to the ahole from ebay that sent me a smoked amp. so im probly going to run 2 subs per amp and use the 2 good ones i have. ok so heres my question

the ppi/precision power pc 21400

its rated at

2 x 350W @ 4 ohms

2 x 700W @ 2 ohms

1 x 1400W @ 4 ohms bridged

THD: 0.02% (4 ohms)

Freq. Response: 4.5Hz ∼ 100kHz (±0.5dB)

S/N Ratio: 115dB

Damping Factor: >500

Max. Current Draw: 230A

Fuse: External 160A

Dimensions: 25.75" x 8.9" x 2.24" (65.4cm × 22.6cm × 5.7cm)

Manufactured in 2000

so i guess what my question is is that if the amps stable 2x700 watts at 2 ohms, why is it not stable at 2800 watts at 2 ohms bridged. or am i wrong ? lol

You are correct, they are only stable to 4Ohms bridged or 2Ohms stereo. 1400 watts is all they were designed to produce. I have seen them run at lower impedance but you would be putting the amp at risk to do so. Have you tried them yet with a stable load?

no, likle i said my plan was to do 4 subs, 4 amps.. well 5 amps, one for the highs but were not talkin about that lol., so what i was asking is if the amps able to produce 700 watts X2 stereo, i was curious what would happen if i was to run 2 15's off one amp bridged witch will give the amp a 2ohm load.. i dont see my subs even moving with 700 watts each lol.

If you bridge an amp to a two ohm load you are effectively putting a one ohm load on the amp. Which is why you see amps rated to two ohms stereo and four ohms bridged. Your amp will do 1400 watts RMS, (700x2@2ohms or 1400x1@4ohms). If you bridge it to a two ohm load it will "try", for lack of a better word, to make 2800 watts. It can't handle that kind of current flow and would either go into protect mode or smoke.
