Will this drain my battery

If I wire a 1200 Watt amp to two 12", dual coil Clarion subs (250RMS each), would it drain my battery or damage the alternator.

The amp is not digital, and the wiring would consist of having the individual subs wired in series, and then having the two subs wired in parallell for a 4Ohm mono load.

I'm just wondering if I would require a Farad cap or a stronger alternator.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

My guess (and wish) is that I won't have to... but if anyone could provide any further insight, it'd be greatly appreciated.

If that's the only amp you will be running. You shouldn't have to worry about anything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sweet car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I am familiar with your car. And you shouldn't have any problems at all. You have the Kenwood factory deck correct ? MP3 capable. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was looking at one last year. The kenwood MP3 deck from the factory is what caught my attention. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the car is a Mazda MP3 geared towards the aftermarket tuner crowd.

The model name does directly refer to the MP3 headunit.

I take it you were unhappy with the subwoofer tucked in the trunk?

I like to have a little more kick with my music... the stock Kenwood sub didn't provide much in that department. BTW, I was aware that my car was named after its head unit... **** it, I thought I could pull off the whole Mazda Protege 3 story.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif
