Will this box design be ok?

This is kind of a rough sketch, its not drawn to a certain volume or tuning quite yet. Im just wanting to make sure this design will be ok. My worry is the location of the port. This box is going in the trunk of a 93 lincoln continental.

The dimensions that are drawn are:

BOX

36 wide

36 deep

16.75 high

PORT

8 wide

9 away from the front wall (where subs are mounted, i believe subs have about 8" mounting depth)

Now the reason the port is where it is, the box is going to be tucked away back in there, so anywhere else it will be covered up and not have any open space. And it will not fit on the front of the box.

So i guess my main question right now is, will it be ok for the port to be pretty close to the rear of one of the subs? Ill make sure its not touching or on the verge of touching, ill try for atleast an inch away from the motor. But its limited due to i dont know if the port will even be completely free of obstructions there either.

No it wont. That design is retarded. That air pocket would mess everything up.

Shit.. That really sucks. I dont know where im going to put the port now. Space is kinda limited with the two 15's. I mean they would fit, just cant find a good place for the port.

I guess my only other option would be to fire the ports up into the rear deck. I dont plan to seal it up to the deck or anything, just firing up into the rear speaker holes in the deck.

Will two 8" aeros be enough for a pair of 9515's?

Also, how much affect would it be if i leave the stock 6x9 holes and fire it into those? I dont really want to cut anything up. If i were to cut anything i want to be able to make it look nice but i dont see any way i can do that.

I will get some pics tomorrow of what im working with and hopefully someone can give me some ideas on how i can pull this off. The volume is there like i said, just port placement is not easy.

Two 8" areos should be about 100 sq in of port area, will that be enough when using aeros vs a slot port? For a slot port i know i would want to use some more port area. Im going to be using pvc pipe if i go with aeros.

Here are pics of my trunk and other stuff to help try and get some idea on what i should do for a box design. I guess right now i only need to figure out where i can put the port, obviously not on the front of the box, two 15s will leave no room on that side.

And also if you cant tell, the box is pretty much covered up by the trunk walls, and the new box will be the same size, only alot deeper to get the volume i need.
