Will the 9885 run active? I'd check crossover points on the mids and tweets and see if things look good there, especially if you plan to run passive. If they do, I don't see why it wouldn't be a fine setup. mylows and a lot of other folks like the CDT stuff.

why wouldnt it be able to? i dont know anything about running active but definitly something im interested in will just run the passive to start tho till i learn a few things about running active.

I wouldn't worry about running active since its not a 3 way setup but with an amp around that power it should be all good

I'm very pleased with my CDT components, but I'd keep their ratings strongly in mind. They aren't underrated. Well, maybe they are thermally, but not mechanically. I have my set on about 110w per side, and sometimes have to cross as high as 100-110hz @ 24/db. So I'm still running a bit more than rated power on them, but I do have to cross pretty high sometimes. I'll be looking to upgrade to something that can handle 150w a side in the future. But I am very pleased with every other aspect of them. No distortion, great clarity, decent mid-bass, and affordably priced.

him em with a sundown 100.2 or a 100.4 if ure powering your rears too.

Personally i like my db a5, its a 90x4. Pushes my Hertz and DD's great

ya well i think im just gonna run them passive for awhile anyways, then maybe in the futur try the active thing out.
