Well the OP is claiming the XXX is one of the best SQ subs in the world. Which I dont think is very true isnt it geared towards being the so called SQL sub.

Agreed, but they do sound decent and get really freaking loud.

Ok, heres the deal, I posted a link to my build log over at CadillacForums.com and some guy gets on there talking about how wood is the best sound deadener and that his Pioneers have a greater output than my RE XXX's. I've tried to explain to this guy but he has no idea and keeps beating it into the ground. Here is the link to the thread:

That guy is hopeless, don't bother. There are hundreds like him and there'll be hundreds more. The mere fact that he put wood in his trunk because he misunderstands acoustic fundamentals speaks volumes for his knowledge. Wood is used because it has the best dead/cost ratio. That's in regards to HOUSING speakers, because if the wood is vibrating, the sound is different. It does absolutely nothing to "absorb" bass like he's saying when it's being acted upon externally.

Although I'm new to car audio I think you both have good systems, I guess his is a lil bit more rough around the edges but I'm sure it can get loud.

vance your a ****in dumbass, does anyone else notice that nothing is every the same in any of his pics, I would like to see name on a peice of paper next to everything. Bet he cant do that, I have a guy at work like that and he pisses me off. every other week he comes and asks me a question about car audio and when I give him the proper answer he always tells me Im wrong, why ask if you know????
