Will second battery charge itself or do i need a charger?

As long as i am not constantly playing the system will it charge in its own or do i need to charge it every night? If i need to charge it can you make a recomendation on a charger?

Lastly do i need to fuse a second battery? if so before or after the second battery?

You need to fully charge the battery once before use. Overnight charge (10+) hours on 2 amps is a good way to do it.

I am going to be nice here....if you are connecting your second battery to the original battery, or directly to the alt, then it will charge. yes...always use a fuse...more explanation will be required as to how you are wiring this to tell you where a fuse is needed.

it will be connected to the battery up front + to + and - to -.... then my amp + to the second batts + and my amp ground to the second batts -

so it needs a once off full charge then it is good?

your battery will be getting charged in the vehicle. ALTHOUGH, i personally do not have an upgraded alt in my car now, so I always put a charger on my spare battery at least once every week or two just to make sure. just before you go to sleep slap on a trickle charger and let it go overnight. would recommend you get a SMART charger, so it kicks off when the charging is done, thats what i use.

Yes. As for your wiring, thats exactly how I would do it. You would be good to have 2 fuses on the + next to each battery, as well as a fuse to your amp(s).

I have the same situation. I have a stock battery up front and a Stinger SP1000 in the back. The stinger usually stays charged up pretty well but about once a month I will tkae it off and charge it up.

one fuse at each end of the wire between the batteries... and one on the other side of battery 2

for the OP, the point of the fuse is to protect the batteries....if you have something sever the wire between the batteries and only have a fuse at one end, then you will have one protected battery and the other short to ground
