length and gauge of speaker wire

background: I am considering attaching both of my amps to the rear of my back seat, between my sub enclosure and the seat

question: what are some thoughts on length of speaker wire and gauges to run from amp on back of rear seat to front doors(max 8 ft)...rated 140w rms, but most likely true 100wrms per channel.

alternative: would it be more recommended to put the front stage amp under the front seats? I was trying to simplify my power wire...1/0 to rear-->distro block-->4 gauge to each amp.

thoughts?

edit: anyone see an issue with the amp being so far away from the speakers?

there will be a little more resistive loss running long distances, but 8' is pretty typical for front speaker wire length.
