i plan on running

head unit: prolly deh-p980 bt

comps:slc 265

comp amp: undecided(most likely orion)

subs:2 12" type r alpines

sub amp: HCCA d5000 (run at 1 ohm)

will do big 3 upgrade

have stock battery and stock alternator

car is an 02 accord ex v6 coupe

think i will need one? or wish i had one?

You might want to check out a new alt before a second batt. I believe that D5000 is going to want some current, I don't think your stock alt will be able to keep up with that alone, not to mention the comp amp.

got a link to an alternator site. not really sure what im looking for. also i was thinkign about buying one of the used group 31 optimas that scottie is selling. would that be a good choice. might have to mod the battery area to get it to fit ill have to look under the hood

i had to mod my batt area, but like they say, look into an alt first, no good having multiple batts if u cant properly keep them charged //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

a redtop as starting batt and yellowtop in the trunk and a big three should be ok....go with that first and then if you feel the need to later on you can always upgrade the alt......

Spend the money when you need to for the alt....not having your 250 amp alt charging your stock starting battery....

i bought one of scottie,s G31s and put it in the trunk with a red top up front and iam loving it..my alternator is only a 120a but it seems to be holding up.. but those HCCAs are power hungry so i totally agree with getting your electrical system up to par, ie: big 3, optima in the trunk and alt upgrade...

i wouldnt get more batteries, unless you need juice to power your stereo when the cars off

a bigger alt, that you might need

if you do need batterys, Reds are for starting, Yellows are for accessories

but i wouldnt buy anything until you get your stereo all hooked up and see what you really need

that is only when you install an isolator.....

imo you only need 1 battery i have an interstate battery with 2 amps and ac running with the lights on it doesnt dim on bit and the amps a re a 600.2 and a 1000 watt max power 4 channel amp so yeah just get an interstate.....they are better than yeallow tops and are less expensive

I'll agree they're less expensive... the other part... I'm pretty confident you have no idea. In fact, there are so many reasons that is wrong I dont even know where to start. I'm curious to hear what is "better" about the Interstate? Oh, I know... it's not so heavy... you dont like yellow??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
