will I be able to run 800-1000rms off of 105 amp alt and stock battery?

I ran 1100 rms at 1ohm on a stock battery and alt in my 95 explorer with no light dimming or anything. Now i'm running 2k rms @ 1 ohm off of the same thing but with a 1200 power cell and everything is good still with no dimming or whining.

This is down the line...i need to save up some money first but I guess I'll just have to test it out and if I end up needing a battery I'll just get a small Kinetik or XS power or something that won't break the bank.
Thanks
do yourself a favor when you are ready to make the move with a kinetik or xs is get a good reasonable size. I seen too many people wanting to pinch pennies and buy small that works for them at the current time with their set up and they ALWAYS end up upgrading amps and subs. Then they spend even more for a new power cell that's bigger to accommodate the power needed. Be a step ahead of yourself and save more down the road instead of at the moment.

you're a retard.

OP dont listen to that guy.

first off if your stock batt is 75ah or more you should be ok.[/quote

hahahah! thread delivers.

I concur though, I wouldn't get a cap, everything I've read on them suggests they only put more strain on your electrical. And they do NOT act like a battery.

OP, you will be fine. I ran an inefficient 1500w on my stock electrical: 70a alt, oem battery. All I have done is the Big 3 upgrade which only costs about $30. My voltage was always fine.

And @RSDXzec they don't put any strain on your electrical, they just don't help it. That's not what they were designed for, that's just what they're mis-marketed for.

Well a capacitor constantly pulling power from the alternator is more strain in my view.

I have a 105A stock alternator.
I am thinking about picking up a cheap 1000w amp like a hifonics or something but need to make sure I can run it with stock alternator/battery?

I wouldn't mind buying a cheaper 2nd battery for the back but reallllly don't want to replace alternator.

SO. Will i need to buy a 2nd battery do you think?

I don't see where you said what type/size of batt you're currently running. Depending on that, you might want to upgrade to an AGM with better Ah rating, but my take is that you'll be fine with the alt and batt you gots.....def shud be good to go with the 105A alt at only 1k

i love these threads.....

(clears throat):

2k+ rms on stock 100a alt and 2 batts that are meh. voltage stays about 12.8v most of the time at full tilt...... i had to throw my $.02 in lmao

i have a 120amp alt in my VW stock and i have 2 extra batts in the back i ran a 5600 watt amp and very rarely did i drop below 12v
What kind off batts and amp. You must have had huge batts or tons of rise to not drop under 12 at over 5k
