will 3 15s fit in a 48inch box

You should be able to. 15s are usually 15.5 OD, so that's 46.5... leaves you 1.5 inches of play.
I have 4 12s on a 49" baffle. Just brace it good and you will be fine. Make sure to brace the small area between subs really good.
i looked at the specs for q neo, my memory serves me correctly, total diameter for each sub, is 15.5 x 3, equals 46.5 from one sub to 3rd sub if touch while mounted, obviously not a good idea so i will use the .3 - .5 inch for space in-between each, **** is it gonna be tight

You will be able to do it. They won't have any space between each sub box that doesn't matter. Port is on top or bottom along the length of the box. A proper box of 12 cu.ft with 15 sq.in of port area per cube comes to 180 sq.in so the minimum height of the box would be 19.5. You would have to play with depth and port tuning

i figured as much. truthfully i wasn't sure if i was willing to give up seatback, and rest position, but if i port, or even seal, I will lose a lot of space from front to back of car. Its ok, Im taking out the back seats, and replacing with a vinyl leather wooden "seat" to increase depth and height allowance. i imagine that will clear up roughly 2" for height and depth. I really need to figure out how I'm gonna do this, ALSO need to sound deaden the car, really well. I imagine thats gonna be about 500$ TO 1000, well see

Nah.... you'll be fine. I just looked them up and their site says 15.625. So you will basically have a little over an inch to play with. Still that's. 25" between each, and on each end... more than enough room.

Edge - .25" - sub - .25" - sub - .25" - sub - .25" - edge

i cant wait to try this. i really hope it will work. idk if you've seen some of my other posts, but I'm already 6-7k into this install, stupid jl audio! i will sound deaden and design the wooden "seat" then i will get the subs and amps, Im so lost on what amps to go with. everyone has their own opinions on amps and I'm just about ready to go with what i want, vs what other people recommend

oh that is ****! 4 12's? hope you got more info on your install?

my car is a 02 civic coupe. I started off my install with focal k2, dual 2 12" and a kicker iq 1000.5. then returned iq for jl 750/1 and a 600/4 and a 12w6, sealed, sub is ok, twice the output of the duals, but i need 3x maybe 4x the output, especially for when I'm drunk. None of this is for competing, just me, loud and obnoxious in my garage. i also like a clean DD so maybe eventually showroom quality but for now id settle for loudness and clear

i hope your wrong, if your right i will just go to 3 12's, but if I'm able and can make it clean i will just cut into the plastic, i would anticipate maybe an extra two inches total. i might be able to go up to a 50" box if i cut into the plastic
I'm usually not, but as already stated, depends upon the subs. Some are oversize compared to others in terms of baskets used and gaskets.

Not bad. Instead of those 2x4's acting as a prevention from sub enclosure sliding around, why not utilize those 2 back tie-downs and get a few long bolts and bolt down the box?

There is a drop off under the box. So 2 different heights on the floor. The long edge is towards the rear, and the 2x4 hold up the front end of the box. The box is wedged in tight between the side panels... it's not going anywhere
