How do other car audio forums keep this crap out... I know the other forums that memeber on here use dont have all the BS we do.. such as Termpro, or the SS forum

SSA have 2 active Admin's for one. And its not a big OT forum, there more about Tech over there.

Termpro is about competing, and not about bullshit.

Others are just as much a shithole, but doesn't have enough traffic to really do any damage.

Great idea but I'm guessing it would take alot more mods working alot more hours to actually work that efficiently. Also what is considered useless in the lounge, where everything is non CA related?

Would be interesting to see if posts from a certain subsection of the forum (say the lounge) could be excluded from the "recent posts" section at the top of the forum. I check that alot to see whats goin on, it would look alot more like an audio forum if all the lounge posts didn't show up there.

"who has beat off to the hot chick thread" created by a MOD (EHEM!!) should not be allowed...just not necessary. I am a younger guy.. I really dont care...but if I was 40-50yrs old.. I dont think i'd wanna see that crap in a forum im on, on a weekly basis.

What changes would you like to see?
If someone posts something inappropriate, and I see it, I'll take care of it...but I don't see everything...and I've only been back for around a month or so now..

Plus, there's only so much we can do with the limited abilities as mods we're given. If someone is banned, there's nothing stopping them from signing right back up....and we don't always catch them.

I try and do what I can in other sections, but I can't sit here and read every post that is made...I don't get paid to be here.

I try and emphasize in the classifieds that if you need anything, PM me. If there's anyone in here that has PM'ed me with an issue, they'll tell you I did what I could to help them out. When I'm on the forum, if anyone PM's me with an issue, it won't be ignored.

However, I can't sit here and babysit people.

Honestly, what would you like to see done? I'm not trying to be rude- I honestly would like to know what some of you guys would like to see done here to improve things.

I don't put all of this on the mods. I think you guys do, for the most part, the best that you can. The lack of a forum director/super moderator between the mods and Goob does make managing the site more difficult.

I don't necessarily expect the mods to run around deleting everything. I just think the membership as a whole (regular members and mods alike) should be making a more concerted effort to maintain a more friendly and inviting community where knowledge and interesting discourse is considered an asset. I think right now that none of those are true; post dumping, racism, ******, etc. are the "cool" things people are looking for.

Regardless, it is a choice the collective members have to make....I just wish people made different choices. And I realize that people always say "it used to be better" because I've heard it on forums I've run before, too, but I don't think anyone can argue that the last 1-3 months hasn't been insane. The number of threads I am legitimately interested in has dwindled drastically (although I still spend way too much time here). Maybe that's me growing away from the direction of the site, but I hope not. I think with the right people in place and the right message from everyone, there is even greater potential in this site.

Lets take someone like the lady that just joined the forum.. .even if she wants to learn some things, you tihnk she's gonna stick around for long with all the comments and offensive threads that are on this site.. no, shes gonna go to somewhere like SSA where that is at least controlled

Its a forum with all ages, aslong as underagers don't have free access to **** (the recent snafu) then old should have to deal just as young on topics they don't want to see. Unfortunately its the internet sometimes stuff doesn't roll exactly how the individual wants to see it.

I'm with you there, its not so much mods, its a little goob, and its alot the population. A mix of new and old members that take things too far. Usually masses on the interenet don't make the right choice though, so I don't see things getting better from that angle.
