So if this is used as the basis for the argument against gun control, why cant this argument be expanded to include all weaponry?

the verbage used indicates the use of firearms/weaponry that can be used to target individuals, not groups of people. where as biological weapons or gasses are more difficult/not possible to use in a public situation in order to target individuals or to fight in defense (ie: overthrowing the government, mutiny, keeping a ho in line).

The first thirteen words of the Second Amendment are not limiting in any logical sense. They explain why the right to bear arms is a good idea and how it is related to security and liberty. But they put no conditions upon the right that follows.
