i'm not lying to myself... you have some f*cked up morals if you would really take a life because you were losing material possessions... suing for money still equals material possessions... i'd go broke and homeless if it meant someone didn't have to lose a life... why? cause i can get that sh*t back over time
I can't. I am a 17 year old kid (legally speaking) and actually someone stole my camera last year in photo class. Would i shoot them? No. Would I beat the living shit out of them? Yes. Do you know what would have happened to me? Expulsion. Suspension. what would have happened to him? detention most likely.

I can't get that back. No insurance will cover that. It was my dad's first camera he ever owned, and he was nice enough to let me use it.

The law says if someone is breaking into your house and stealing your shit, then you can kill them.

So the law disagrees with you.

I'm not saying that you should go next door and shoot people... I'm talking about defending your own home and household.

And anyone who breaks into someone's home to steal shit knows that getting shot and killed is a distinct possibility... thus, they judged that the possessions in question were indeed worth more than their own lives. So they've already made that decision, and it's been proven to be correct in this case.

I don't expect them to just sit there; i would expect them to call the police.
Calling the police is exactly what i would expect my neighbor to do; I wouldn't expect, or want, them to kill anyone without even knowing for sure what the hell is going on.

Seriously, i have entered friends houses through an unlocked window several times with their permission.

Another example is when i got locked out of my parents house soon after moving into the neighborhood. I ended up kicking in the front door, so i could get inside. A neighbor actually did call the police and i am glad they did that instead of shooting me.
well next time you have two black friends who need into your house, and you give them permission to break your window and grab a bunch of shit and run out... THEN you have a ****ing story.

whatever dude, seriously, they stole shit. they die and I hope they ****ing burn in hell. I hate thieves with a passion.

I already told you, several times, that i have kicked in my parent's front door. It was also within a few weeks of moving into that house, so no neighbors knew who i was.

I swear faulkton if you didn't speak so eloquently and were so persuasive i would think you were an idiot. I was not talking to you. I was talking to him. He said he most likely entered a window to get into his friends house, and i asked him if he used a crowbar to break into it, or if he kicked down the door LIKE YOU DID.

Well, anyone who is in the process of breaking into someone's house, stealing their shit, crawling out the window with a bag of loot and is confronted in the yard by someone with a gun tell them to stop or die.... and still chooses to run... probably can be blamed for their own death. IMNSHO.

Interesting point... a drawn gun by anybody probably means you're going to die... cops don't aim to mame... and ole nazi boy on the phone being told to go back inside the house was obviously watching too much lou dobbs before he went outside.

You missed the part where I made it impossible for you to recover from the loss. Gotta read the whole hypothetical situation.

You would go broke and homeless to save the life of someone who would take everything you have? Somehow, I doubt that.

Anyways, I'm out as I said above //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Don't wanna get sucked into this again! Faulkton will get ya going like that.

True. He went out, told them to stop -- they didn't. From the sound of it they approached him as well. Stopping would have prevented any death that day from the sounds of it.
I believe there is a fundamental disagreement between the two of us about the motivation of the shooter.

To me, on the tape, he clearly sounds like a man frustrated with the inadequacies of the criminal justice system. The fact that he cites a recent change in the laws regarding when a homeowner has the right to shoot an intruder makes me believe he thought he was 100% within his right to go out and shoot the two men.

He was in no danger at all and went out of his way to confront these men, and i believe he had every intention of shooting them before he even left his house against the pleading of the 911 operator.

I'll answer your question with a question...

Do you think all burgalurs break down doors and blow stuff up to take things?

I would say that's worth getting suspended... at least his life isnt being taken away... did you file a report with the police?

the one who stole my stereo equipment out of my car jammed a screwdriver into my door and busted it open, open all my bins, compartments and such to search for my headunit's faceplate and left everything scattered, and ripped the sub, amps and crossovers out of there respected places so hard that the wires ripped in half.

So you tell me.

Interesting, you used one scenario that you experienced to generalize all burglaries. My point is that not all burglaries have a big bang before the person evolves into stealing mode.
