Thank You^ Finally someone with some sense! It's NOT a hate crime, because there are more than enough white officers that patrol the battery, that can and would have probably done way more than push the kid.

its a hate crime, plain and simple. I mean if it had been a black kid up their break dancing or stepping.. jesse jackson and al sharpton would be all over this.
I am going to have to agree with you on that...

Also, it isn't assault. It is battery. Assault is the threat of bodily harm or inappropriate touching; battery is the act of causing bodily harm or inappropriate touching. Since he didn't see the officer before she pushed him it is not assault because he didn't feel threatened, maybe he did. But, since he was pushed and did receive harm than it is battery:fyi:

that poor child was probably just trying to get in shape for the president's fitness challenge and that horrible bigot attacked him without cause. She should serve time.

racial? meh... I don't think so much. I think a white cop, black cop, white kid, black kid. It wouldn't have mattered... It was a disrespectful skater getting treated a little too harsh without warning. If the cop had warned him once... MAYBE twice, and he kept skating on the property, physicaly removing him would havebeen permitted. I think the cops punishment is fitting. She didn't beat the kid bloody for being a stupid little white skater... she simply pushed him into bushes for being a disrespectful skater destroying their property. She gets punished, but not fired, he gets what I think he deserved... win-win

Since when to officers judge the punishment for things?

I thought that was the job of a judge/jury?

Thats what skate parks are for. He was skating on a historical monument.

Ever been to Charleston. I lived there for a year. Its one of the mose historical cities in the nation. He was being a little shithead and got what he deserves.

I guarantee he was warned, probably several times. The kids probably said watch this and turned on the camera to do it one more time right in front of her.

There were signs posted have some fvcking respect.
