Ive experienced the exact opposite. I mean here drivers wave to each other on the fukking highway. Total strangers.. its just customary to wave or nod your head at drivers you pass on the highway or street.
If i could afford to live in a downtown seattle apartment (or any metro) and still have enough cash to live comfortably (eat out, waste money and have fun) i would in a second. But that shit takes a lot more than i could afford.

cost of living in metro detroit is not as high as seattle.

housing is fairly cheap if you know what areas to look into

a good 3 bedroom house can be had for about 90k

Living in small town can go both ways. Yes, there can be a sense of community. But the community can also be narrow minded, intrusive and yes bitter. Honestly, the people can be so bored that they have nothing else to do but stir up shit.

i like urban areas and being right in the middle of the city. i don't do anything outdoors.

Same here. Nothing like walking a block and passing anything you would ever need to buy.

that is exactly how it is here

in my old neighborhood in detroit, the house across the street was for sale. well the real estate agent decided to cut threw the alley, not knowing there was a huge pothole. well her front wheel feel into the whole and her car was stuck. all the people on the block, like 12-15 came over and picked her car up out of the hole. she was so impressed with how friendly everybody was, she bought the house herself and moved her and her husband in. that kinda thing never happens up here in the country.

The median price for a house in king county is over 400K.

When i was living in a small town there were some cool things.. Like everyone new everyone and all the girls and guys have already gone out with eachother so when i showed up i was new to all the girls.. ****! Ive never go so much action in my life.

And the small town i lived in was the town where you were sent from ****en up to many times in the city so it was a cracked out little town there were some *****in parties

San diego is one of the worst places for rent.. its ridiculosely expensive.

But beautiful weather all year round. plenty to do, a beach.. and cmon its san diego

Ya san diego is ridiculous. My cousin bought a really nice house out there in a very nice neighborhood.

My other cousin lives in Huntington Beach...thats pretty bad also

no but i used to have a couple L7s in a gutted 1976 fullsize dodge van.. i would rock it weating a case IH hat... with a 170 pound blue dog sitting in the crushed green velvet captain chair next to me..

as soon as you cross 8 mile property value drops in almost half

now the neighborhood isn't the best in the world, but they are fairly decent neighborhoods and you don't have to gaurd your home with a gun.

if you have kids it's not a good place cause detroit public schools are among the worst in the country.

I will agree with that. I spent a couple of weeks at the Hotel del Coronado (I got a deal on the rate). Very nice. And really, the people were nice as well. Of course, everyone loves me so it is hard for me to tell whether an area is really friendly or just reacting to my charm.
