its an experience that most people never have. More people should, its not an entirely negative thing... but certainly not where i will spend the rest of my life.
Basically it boils down to culture VS community.
There is a sense of cohesion and loyalty found in small towns not found in the city. Once you are accepted and known its crazy how nice and trusting people are. People genuinely care about others in the community. Its really hard to describe what i mean, if you aren't familiar with it.
Think of life in mayberry (andy griffith), its still like that here. A perfect example is being able to charge things at local stores... how many of you can just go into the pharmacy, grocery, hardware store and just tell them to send you a bill?
The phone company/ cable company is LOCALLY owned for Christ sakes.. its not qwest/verizon/att, its owned by a family that lives in town...
There is no shortage of benefits to living in an urban area, unfortunately thats also true of the drawbacks of living in a metro area.
