So, it is up for the government to take up a parent's slack once again:
Can't pay your bills, govt will help

Can't feed you kids, govt will help

Can't afford a home, govt will help

Can't take care of your kids, govt will help

Want to go to a good state school, govt says no funding

Want to become an independant options trader, flat taxed at 15% everytime you sell.

I know I can't change everything, but I try my ****est to support candidates that reward people taking personal responsibility for their lives.
are you stupid or a saint or what? So dumb you got caught or such a goody good that ya never had any fun in school?

You can be the best parent and not always know what your kids are up to. Maybe you're gonna give your high school kids 8 o clock cerfew and breathalize them every night? I mean cmon now.

I do agree its a waste of money though.

but an unbiased response.

i say YES because its allows parents to know whats going on with their kids. It helps lower the teen drinking rate along with teen DUI/DWI manslaughter etc.

I say NO because drinking is legal (in my state at least) with your parent(s) or legal gaurdian or spouse (you=18-20 spouse=21+) It isnt failproof. Can ruin parent child relations. takes one more thing away from the youth. and many more i dont feel like adding.

overall i say NO because theres many more negatives than positives.

keep in mind I am a 17 year old who drinks on a regular basis..so even though i say unbiased im sure it still is a bit.

dont get me wrong though theres still many good things to this..but they are offset by the negetives.

schools test for drugs? Not that I know of. At least not here.
I dont agree with it just being for straight alchys....its says if you drink like two beers it will show up. 2 beers probably won't get an 8 year old drunk, so I don't see why someone should care if a high schooler has a couple beers.

Also imo, if the system has flaws... it shouldnt be used. Think how your relationship between you and your kid would be if you ***** at them or ground them for showing up positive.....especially if they really didnt drink anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif.
Shows how much I know...I thought there already was drunk testing.

May or may not get them drunk, but in the state of NJ within a short time span you Will blow positive during a DUI stop.

If my kids tell me its wrong, then its wrong.

I can definately agree/relate with this. There is Soooo much that my parents didnt know I or any of my friends got into...

I think its dumb because kids shouldn't drink under the age of 21 becuase they know better, they listen to their parents, and they're responsible, not because their school does "random" alcohol tests.

BTW my school has "random" drug dog searches in the classrooms and it's complete bs. They know exactly who has a record and they wait till the most stoners are in one class and search it. School's gay.

New Jersey is a blue state, the rest of us are red states, go figure.
I assume there are more substances that could give a false-positive. If the person appeared under the influence, no problem. Kid get hurts at school, no problem. Mass random testing, I have a problem.
Umm, a blue state means its Democrat. This is very, very un-Democrat.

Didnt the article state it would have to equal consumptiion of one to two drinks? Thats alot of mouthwash to consume...
Maybe I should read the entire article before I go on, as I see Im not making any friends here quickly..
Nothing wrong with sticking to what you believe in. I'd say more but you appear to be much older than I and I personally hate it when people younger than me try to give advice.

Once again, this is completely different. These kids are now bringing these illegal substances onto schools grounds. And this may very well interupt school while in session.

But what Im trying to say here is that the school is trying to play "parent" for a bunch of kids even on the weekend now. Its not the schools place or job to do so.

Theyre dumb and they alone should get punished, not entires schools.

6spdcoupe, i think you have it wrong... this isn't to catch kids that go to school drinking (although it would) it's designed to catch trace amounts of ethyl glucuronide, which is produced after alcohol is metabolized. so if i got to a party friday night, and they wanna make me piss in a cup monday morning, i'm gonna get screwed. that's absolute bullshit

now if a kid is stupid enough to get drunk at school/before school, then yea, they deserve it. but not for a little weekend party.

i wonder what would happen when a kid refuses the test.. i know thats what i would do.. even if i hadnt been drinking (never really do drink)... but i sure as fuk wouldnt piss in their cup or anything like that.

They might get a taste test if they ask nice enough..
