I worked for Superior Essex fixing computers in a high school internship. paid $7.25/hr.

I just waited for people to call and say something was wrong. like tommyk i usually just made it look like i was doing something.

But instead of getting kicked out for having *** i got kicked out for havin weed flakes and seeds in my cars carpet. so i lost the internship. i'm working on getting another one with Scottrade doing customer service

Faulkton, do you have a blue dress? If so, I think I can use your services here. Don't worry, you would not have to have "***" with me.
i save all my blue dresses. I just wish i would have saved the cigar //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm starting to apply for internships.
I know at least some of you were smart enough to go to college and possibly did internships.

So where did you intern, was it paid, and what did you really do?

I did 4 Internships throughout High School, Undergrad, and Masters program.

1 - Morgan Stanley (2 years): Did everything from Clerical work (data entry, phones, accepting deposits, and reception), client marketing, presentations, client review preps, event co-ordination, and database setup/maintenance).

2 - Local Trust firm (1 year): - Assent Management & Allocation, Created/Updated Website & Materials, and maintenance of Client database (all electronic).

3 - County Government (1.75 years) (Economic Development): Local Disaster relief and business recovery, affordable housing board/urban housing board, economic indicator/local, state, & fed economic research.

4 - GE (1.5 years) - Account Reconciliations, Cash Flow Forecasting, Variable rate depreciation modeling, AP Support, IBAN/BIC code projects.

All of my experience was related to my Finance/Econ academic focus. I was always able to apply my education to my work as I went along, which made learning 100% more effective. Quality internships are the best! You get to learn without the pressure of having to perform like the full-time staff. My pay was anywhere between 10/hr - 16/hr but my area is lower in pay than the national average.

Jesus you did a lot of internships and for extended periods of time.

The ones I'm going to apply to are like one semester, full time in a state agency.

I can only use 12 credits of internship in my degree program, so one term is all I'm going do.

You must have actually attended class part time and interned part time? How much of that was for credit?

For my 2nd semester Junior Year and all of senior year in HS I got to leave @ Noon everyday (work-study program) for Morgan Stanley.

The only other I received credit for was at the County Government. I always went to school full-time 12-15 CR hours and worked 25-32 hours per week at my internships. For some I worked Saturday or I would stay late after normal office hours for extra work. It was a full-load and I'm 20 pounds heavier for it but I'll be making much more money as well.
