I did 4 Internships throughout High School, Undergrad, and Masters program. 1 - Morgan Stanley (2 years): Did everything from Clerical work (data entry, phones, accepting deposits, and reception), client marketing, presentations, client review preps, event co-ordination, and database setup/maintenance). 2 - Local Trust firm (1 year): - Assent Management & Allocation, Created/Updated Website & Materials, and maintenance of Client database (all electronic). 3 - County Government (1.75 years) (Economic Development): Local Disaster relief and business recovery, affordable housing board/urban housing board, economic indicator/local, state, & fed economic research. 4 - GE (1.5 years) - Account Reconciliations, Cash Flow Forecasting, Variable rate depreciation modeling, AP Support, IBAN/BIC code projects. All of my experience was related to my Finance/Econ academic focus. I was always able to apply my education to my work as I went along, which made learning 100% more effective. Quality internships are the best! You get to learn without the pressure of having to perform like the full-time staff. My pay was anywhere between 10/hr - 16/hr but my area is lower in pay than the national average.
