On a serious note though, that sucks man, I hope it works itself out. From my experience though, it doesn't count as an attempted class if you drop before the date when a grade must be reported (ie at MSU we can drop without a grade until half way through the semester, if you drop before that it doesn't count as "attempting" the class)...so that should help you out a bit it sounds like.
according to their policy here any class dropped after the first day (a W on transcripts) counts toward the 67%. Thats whats screwing me. The fcked thing is there is no way in hell i could have gotten my cumulative attempted above 67% in only one year.. just impossible...

The other thing is that its just a school policy.. i still have money according to fafsa site and the EAC site..

There is a small catholic school (i went to catholic k-8) i could transfer.. they were ready to let me in last semester but it was more expensive, so i stayed with the state school.

i still think its a bish *** policy.. to punish someone for something that happened almost ten years ago, in another state, not connected with financial aid in any way...AFTER they have gone to school for a year and got straight A's. They should just reinstate it when i call them tomorrow.. if not fck'em...their bureaucratic BS wont stop me from getting a degree.. I also like how i only find out about it two weeks before summer session starts..

did you read my post.. i am doing well.. but shit who is ready to go to college full time at 16?!

I sure as fck wasn't.. but i am now..as demonstrated by getting 4.0 all last year...

1st semester will most likely be a little rocky for most people. i know someone who graduated at 17, and was teaching at the university by 19.

yeah ok so if most people are ready to go to school at 16... why do high schools exist? Why not do away with jr and sr year and go straight from sophome in HS to college?

That really sucks that your school's policy is like that with the attempted classes.

At any rate though, I'm sure you'll be able to get it worked out...I'd think they would understand when you get a hold of them and explain the situation. You should not be held accountable for failing a few college classes while in high school.

maybe you should reread my post.. I WENT ALL LAST YEAR AND GOT 4.0's BOTH SEMESTERS..

They are fcking with me for shit that happened almost 10 years ago.. in another state... not on fincial aid.. when i was in high school!

yeah I'm thinking they will reinstate it.. i just cant call till tomorrow..

and i know my family would pay if they had to.. i just don't want to have to ask.. I'm 27.. its my own responsibility now.. i had my chance for parents to pay for it and decided not to go...

maybe you are too young and immature for college. the point of that it is possible. you just have to be determined.
It's not about determination, it's genetic when things like that happen...plain and simple. High school exists for the sole purpose of preparing you for college. Most kids are ~18 when they graduate high school, and something like 50-75% are actually READY for college at that point. Don't give the "it's possible" bullshit answer. Faulkton's point is that when he was in high school, he failed a few college courses, possibly because he wasn't ready....and that shouldn't affect his aid now that he is ready - which has been demonstrated by his 4.0 GPA in his frist real year of college.

P.S. I'm 19 and a senior in college with a 4.0, majoring in chemistry...so I have the room to speak of advanced minds, where as I'll bet you don't...so shut up.

Well good luck with it. I really think it will change...most colleges are pretty understanding if the situation is explained. It's just hard when a computer program does it all by numbers without consideration for some factors.

I'm not stupid.. and i wasn't when i was 16, i tested into the program.. i just had zero motivation to do well...unless i found the class interesting...

Back then i pulled A's in the classes i liked...philosphy, history, art, ect and didn't bother to regularly attend the ones i didnt... math, English, ect..
