And that is the slippery slope my line of reasoning would ultimately lead to.Since this is such a good idea we should probably expand this policy to include the use of deadly force against anyone seen committing any crime.
Sometimes logic is blinded by personal bias against theft.
You argue it is a replacement cost issue. I argue that the effects of theft run much deeper than that. I haven't been broken into at home (knock on wood) but I purchased an electronic survellience system, and I wake up periodically during the night to check on my truck. In essense, the fact that other people's vehicles have been broken into still causes undue problems for me, as well as the rest of society.
