Be sure to set your gains/volume using a REAL CD, not a cdr...for instance most cdrs with avg recording quality would need another 10-12 volume points to get equally as loud on my deck..

With the output set at the normal +10, my 8053 starts to clip at around 78-79.
What do you mean "set at +10?" Not clear as to what you are talking about. Thanks.
Somewhere around 50, well 49 to be exact would be 3/4s, thats where Ive typically judged from.
49?? 60 is 75% of 80.
I've had my 8455 at 76, but typically run it at 66-70 when pumping up the volume. This is using regular CDs....

Okay, so maybe the numbers start higher than 1 and thus 49 is *your* key number?

Subwoofer control on my 8455 goes to 6. I do remember my older units going to 16, though. I think he's talkin' about something else when he says output at +10, but dunno what.

As for keeping things down to 49, that just means that your gains are higher than they should be - you want your gains as low as possible while still getting the volume you want when your v-knob is turned to the maximum prior to clipping. so, if the units don't clip until 78 (or whatever the determined level is, and it is definitely not 49), then that's where you really want it, I would think. I am just too lazy right now to tweak mine right - too **** cold out! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
