I remember hearing rumors they were doing this on irc many years ago. Setting up dcc servers, and then sending out DMCA form letters to who ever logs in and tries to DL.

Just to let people know that I have been emailed by the MPAA and universal pictures several times for movies that were downloaded from the pirate bay. I think that they are setting up movies for download on what used to be safe torrent sites so that when you connect to them to download they can obtain your IP address.

Same thing happened to me about a month ago. They told me I had one movie that I had illegally downloaded and had to get rid of it or they would press charges and my internet service could be terminated. They didn't know anything about the other 26 I had. Its such a joke how they are trying to eliminate it because they never will be able to not to mention all the sites that you can watch streaming videos off of. What are they going to do about them??

Gore's Son Arrested for Drug Possession

NPR.org, July 5, 2007 · Former Vice President Al Gore's son was getting treatment Thursday after he was arrested for illegal possession of marijuana and prescription drugs.

Al Gore III was pulled over on a San Diego freeway driving at about 100 mph.

Sheriff's deputies said they smelled marijuana and decided to search Gore's car. They found a small amount of marijuana and Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall, which is used for attention deficit disorder, said Jim Amormino, spokeman for the Orange County Sheriff's office. The 24-year-old Gore did not have a prescription for any of the drugs, Amormino said.

He was released from jail in Santa Ana on Wednesday afternoon after posting $20,000 bail.

Gore said he is glad his son is safe and that he is getting treatment.

"We love him very much," Gore told NBC's "Today" show, adding, "We are going to leave it as a private matter."

The youngest of Gore and wife Tipper's four children, Al Gore III was previously arrested in suburban Washington in 2003 for marijuana possession while he was a student at Harvard University.

He completed substance abuse counseling as part of a program to settle the charge. He now lives in Los Angeles, where he is an associate publisher of GOOD, a philanthropy magazine aimed at young people.

His son's arrest early Wednesday overshadowed Gore's work on the upcoming Live Earth concerts. The former Democratic presidential candidate and star of "An Inconvenient Truth" has been planning the worldwide concert series, on television this weekend, to raise awareness about the environment and funding for the Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit organization he leads.

In his NBC appearance, Gore reiterated that he has no plans to run for president, hoping to qualm widespread speculation.

"I don't expect to be a candidate again, ever," he said. "I've kind of fallen out of love with politics."

He said the best use of his experience is to bring awareness and a sense of urgency to the issue of climate change.

Going 100mph higher speeds (by way of higher rpms) creates more pollution... but Al Gore is probably buying him carbon credits so he's ok..

EDIT: apparently it was a hybrid... so he's doubly ok... whew... I wouldn't want a Gore to be open to accusations of hypocrisy... that would be shocking wouldn't it...

The VP has absolutely no pull when it comes to presidential pardons. He is a member of the legislative branch -- remember?

Yesterday's arrest wasn't Gore's first brush with the law. He was arrested in 2002 for suspected drunken driving and again in 2003 on a marijuana charge.

He would have definitely been partying with Bush had it been back in the day...

Also does anyone see a trend here.... my guess is he's distraught over his Dad's serious lack of character, whit, and charisma...
