Nope, noone was forced to go to that site. They did it on their own free will. Same thing as setting up a drug bust, or the like.


Back to the topic... I've heard of the RIAA setting up false downloads to lure people into downloading certain cd's and then serving them with a huge fine. My advice; only visit trusted torrent sites. And, heck, don't download movies, and for god's sakes don't share anything you get. Or, best of all, don't d/l anything at all...

I wasn't saying I don't download. I download music quite a bit. I'm just saying that not downloading illegally is the only way to be certain you won't get served.

This is not entrapment guys. These people go to a website that is "offering" a service the user KNOWS is illegal, but they still do it anyway. Entrapment is a fine line, but this is obviously not entrapment. Now, if the police held a gun to the user's head and made him download movies...that would be entrapment.

Just to let people know that I have been emailed by the MPAA and universal pictures several times for movies that were downloaded from the pirate bay. I think that they are setting up movies for download on what used to be safe torrent sites so that when you connect to them to download they can obtain your IP address.
