I don't see this so negatively. You guys know what they do with the cars?
Their engines are drained of oil, filled with sodium silicate, and ran wide open til they die. Then, they're crushed.
This is what I see happening
1) Used car prices getting out of hand due to the shortage of them (cause they're crushed now)
2) Prices of used parts getting out of hand due to shortage, again.
3) People getting even further into debt because they bought a car they can't afford.
Good job, Democrats.
Remember, the incentive is offered to better gas mileage cars. Better gas mileage alone can save drivers thousands a year in fuel costs. not to mention spur the popularity and ease of obtaining more fuel efficient cars. It's not only good for the environment, but for the economy, and the infrastructure of the US. Why buy a used car when you can get 4500 off of the sticker on a new more fuel efficient car which will save you money in the long run. Not to mention i don't see a shortage of used cars to even be plausible. You forget that these new subsidized cars will also eventually be used and resold. All this will do is make the inventory of used cars better cars.
