why isnt my system hitting hard

both subs are hooked up to one amp and then the second amp is hooked up to the other amp with a yrca and i forgot that they are at one ohm right now. the subs are dual 4s.
try hooking one to one... each sub on its own amp.. the pre-amp outputs to send signal from the first to the second amp

is there a formula everyone uses to set the gain on there amps? and if so what is it so i can figure out how to set them so im not clipping my subs.
use an o-scope.. odds are you prolly dont have one

you can use a DMM as well... but o-scope is the best possible way

I dont know if i missed it, but how did you get your car metered? Was it at a shop with an audiocontrol or termlab meter? Or was it one of those little handheld meters. If it was a handheld meter then most of those only read up to 125ish dbs max, and aren't very accurate at all...

ok so today i used a term lab to meter my car and hit a 140.7 which isnt too bad for 2 12's. last time i used a boom stick to meter it. but now all my gains are set right and still tweeking the hz setting on my amps. tomorrow i am doing the big 3 and would like to see if that does anything different.

you should be way over 140.7 with 2 of those. 1 of those could do over that in a daily driver enclosure. i did a box for 2 mtx 8500 12's in the trunk of a nissan, and they hit 149 on a TL, at the dash, playing music. you're losing a ton of output somewhere. probably a combination of power, enclosure and install.

How many watts were you sending to those 8500's?? Box size??
