Go on sound solutions audio or xplicit audio, order some badazz stuff and show them what's up then

That's why I don't know much about sundown , ct sound , or the newer company's it's not that I don't know what I'm doing I just don't know about all the better brands out now which is why I joined this site and to learn

PPI, Phoenix Gold, Hifonics ...names like that ...no they don't really have anything great anymore. Some brands now still have an elite series or whatever they wanna call it. But other than that it's all mass produced dookie. I myself have been out of the game so long as well, but I do know coming back in there's a LOT of shizen out there

Eh, There are people in oregon who dont even know what Sundown was. I went to a store called Stereo King in Salem, Oregon. One guy knew about sundown, the rest didnt. I ended up demoing it for them.

Hell when I started driven sparkomatic was still making eq lol the biggest thing here was mcintosh which you couldn't buy here but could order from the car audio shop 70 miles away and u payed for that believe me outrageous

Even though I have not used them in years, something made me hang on to all my old late 80's early 90's amps. This old Geezer is getting ready to make good use of an old Orion Hott Set-up HS 2.125!!!!! It was feeding a Kicker SS12 box in the back of my new 88 Mustang GT the last time it was powered up!!!!!! You guys got me thinkin of the old days when I needed hair cuts!

You can make nice equipment at a decent price, but you can make junk at an even cheaper price... Unfortunately, most companies are just in it to make a profit and the uneducated consumer will buy whatever is the cheapest.

Old school is good for mids/highs amps.

They don't make old school monoblocks big enough for me, and the subs were built for efficiency more than power handling. Main reason I don't run OS stuff. What was considered high power back then? Lol

The old school substage took a different approach than modern stuff. Now, people just try to throw a bazillion watts at beefy subs. Power is cheap these days

Does soundstream still make good products
What about PPI?
Coincidentally, these two brands, which were once upon a time competitors at the elite level, are now siblings. They are owned by Epsilon Electronics along with Power Acoustik and SPL.

That is not to say "Power Acoustik BUILDS Soundtream/PPI", but it is certainly reasonable to assume PA shares at least SOME technology w/PPI and/or SS. I personally expect some of PPI/SS's entry level amp boards to be very similar, if not identical to Pwr Ac's. However, the higher priced lines from those more recognizable brands should still be quite a bit better than the entry level lines, and capable of competing with most of the more mainstream (RF/Kicker etc) brands.

I like the newer stuff.

Class D amps are getting smaller and more efficient by the year.

The sound quality is also getting better with class D amps.

I run a newer Soundstream tarantula nano TN4.900D and I am very happy. The amp is tiny and has tons of output.

The signal is coming from an Audison Bit Ten D.

I've ran the Alpine PDX series and other various class D full range amps. Nothing but great sound.
