Why do you need 2 fuses inbetween batteries?

You make it sound like a wire coming loose from a fuse is 1:10000000, but a wire coming loose from a positive battery terminal is definite.

all im saying is anything is possible. just make sure you install everything properly and you should be good to go:)

You can sit here all day not comprehending what I posted too...
I said even if you have those two fuses what security does that give that the wire isn't going to come out of the fuse, and then start a fire that way? How can someone say your wiring will come out of the battery terminal, but not the fuse??? That's all I'm asking.

Not only that I've recently seen people saying you should fuse your Big 3. So where does it stop, and when should it start?
Anything is possible. All scenarios that you can think of are possible.

Putting 2 fuses as close to your batteries as possible and making sure the fuse holders are tight is the best you can do to prevent a short / fire. Installing the wire away from moving parts, sharp edges, etc.

These probably make the absolute sense, then you don't have wires hanging off live anywhere if something came loose. http://www.wildwestelectronics.net/mo300batewim.html
Looks like a good idea, but not sure how well it would work in practice. Seems like a pretty large terminal, and might not fit in the more compact battery areas. I know on my Cherokee that the KnuKonceptz battery terminals were the limit to be able to close the hood.

I Never use to fuse my gear, Still only have 1 of my batterys fused....If i start a fire then i just get new shit and a new car, Its just like locking ur front door, it keeps people out, a fuse stops fires....You take a risk not fusing...spend 20$ or loose ur investment and ur hardwork.

It's not about wire coming out of a connection. It's about an accident where the wire is smashed between parts of the frame and grounds itself, or something of the sort. The shorter that piece of wire is that could possibly do this, the less likely for it to cause a serious issue. If you have unfused wire stretched throughout your car that can all ground itself, and something happens where it does, I gaurantee you will be on fire.

Yeah, but check this out. http://www.z9electronics.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/SFV/32688/vpid/6157283/vpcsid/0/rid/130328
You would only have to buy 2 of these, and then you don't have to buy 2 inline fuses, and 2 distro blocks... Is that correct? You would still buy the inline to your amp of course. You save some money there right?

Trust me, I don't want my car to start on fire as much as the next guy. I'm just trying to understand best I can.
Imagine if you got t-boned on the side of the car where the un-fused wire is located. It's flips the car, breaks your legs and pins you inside. The un-fused wire is punctured and pinched by the wreck and begins to spark and heat-up starting a fire. All while your helplessly pinned in the seat thinking **** I should have fused that 15' of wire that runs from the front to the back of my car.

But both terminals are fused so I don't get it? You would just use the terminal fused output on the front battery, and the terminals fused input on the second battery right?

Wait now that I read the description more it says fused output... I would have to use the fused output on the front , run it to the back battery, put an inline fuse right before the back battery, and then I could use the fused output to the back for my amp. Either way you are saving money by not buying 2 ANL fuses.
