Why do so many people think speakers PUSH watts

proof speakers push watts:

looks more like an archery target pushing watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
the speaker is facing us for the picture //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Yeah, TSGP, the whole world is against you........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
I'm thinking that your a little jealous that your not on someones balls right now? Careful TSGP i think he wants some cawk.

Speakers will push watts if you move the cone. Not very many watts, but passing a coil through a magnet will generate electricity
ok smart azz lol. you know what I mean
To follow suit with jman I'll add that a drivers output can be described in acoustical wattage..

A speaker does quite literally 'push watts' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I really don't know what to say to people when they ask me how many watts my amplifier is... I mean, like you said most people who run "2000W amps" are really using off brand, peak-rated amps that really run about 200-300 RMS on a cold day in hell, or something similar, and if you tell them your RMS wattage they think yours is inferior, etc. etc. it's just a pain in the ***.
Like speaking a different language, lol.
My boss has no concept of proper power either. He bought a pair of RF P1 12's with a Pnch 360 amp. He showed it to me and I asked why he bought the bottom of the line stuff. He told me the Best Buy guy told him the subs would do 1K watts and the amp is 900watts of power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif. Umm, no. I actually had to rewire it for him, change the x-over to lo-pass (he had it on hi-pass-duh!) and explained to him that the Best Buy guy took him. Saw him coming a mile away. I also explained the difference between RMS and Peak power for both the amp and the subs. Its amazing that such a simple concept is so hard for people to grasp.

I deal with this shit at work all the time, when i first started the job id try to explain to the homies, but to no avail. Now i just sell them what they want. The way i look at it, why help someone get louder than you? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Example : Other day i had a guy that wanted to buy a sony explode whatever amp which was a 2 channel "250rms x2" but it only had 1 25 amp fuse? nahhh. I talked to him a bit and got him to buy the alpine m500 - good little amp for the price. Which was 15$ cheaper than the sony, and on display right next to it. Was gonna power 2 kenwood 12s off it, which were svc 4s. One of the craziest things ive heard would be 2 guys trying to buy a bunch of tweeters (8) to put in the trunk so they got dem highs. And that is exactly what they said. We dont sell tweeters, just component sets. So i direct them over to wally world across the street. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyone ever seen a "glowy fuse?" Ive had 2 homeboys bring a civic in to figure out why their subs arent loud, and its because theyve been using automotive light bulbs for fuses, and they light up. LOL

Also had a homeboy trying to run a zx2500 amp off 10 gauge wire and stock electrical. for 4 off brand 8s, just sitting on the floor of his explorer with no enclosure. Free air subs FTW!

What do you guys think about the power acoustik fubr series subs? we just started carrying them, the highest sub we got is the fubr 15 which is like 379 - actual price 89.99 for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif lol

Nice, an 8 page discussion on grammatical semantics.

Id be willing to be 9 out of 10 of the people who say speakers 'push' watts also fully realize there is an amplifier involved. Its just a common figure of speech people, stop acting so superior.

Oh, and how many acoustical watts does my aunt's ass output after she eats some of her famous bean caserole?

You tell me how many DB's she's hitting at a given distance and I'll do the calculation for you.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
