Re-do haha.
New 2012 model alpine type r 10" with an alpine mrx-m100 amp(1000 watts rms to the sub) Bass boost setting on 0. Gain professionally set + turned down a hair from there. Properly "broke in" 5-8 hours of nothing more than 1/2 settings and volume. It just blew out today at about 16-20 hours played. Was playing it in 80 degree weather heavily. All deck bass settings on max with volume about 3/4th way up. What really caused my sub to blow.. Was it just a bad sub or what. And yes the gain was properly set.
