maybe i drank to much last night, dunno, but ive been seeing a bunch of wall threads and just wondering why would you build a wall? im not putting it down, im asking cause i dont know. what r the benefits of a wall over a normal box.

not just because of making your listening area smaller, but because it gives you more room for your subs (more cubic feet)

Basically if you are cool with backing in to shit , I did twice with my wall. Then a wall can be a cheap way to gain SPL. I like the actual sound of walls over trunk cars. Port downfiring or on the bottom, subs on top sounds best to me.

I can name 3 right off the bat..

1. Lack of space

2. Usually get louder easier (less cabin area to fill)

3. Ability to mount more subs..

The list goes on, there are pros and cons of walls of course.

I think it is more challenging to get loud by staying confound to trunk space. Someday I hope to get a SUV or van and put a wall in that since it is all open. Walls don’t impress me much in a car as they do an SUV. BIG numbers from a trunk impress me.

What makes a wall in an SUV more impressive vs a car? BOTH **** to build I can tell you that much. Finishing up a wall in a Hoe right now with 4 18's.

You can only get so loud out of the trunk, especially in a daily set up. I did 149@34Hz out of the trunk and wanted more.....so I built a wall and never looked back. IMO Walls are better in cars where you cant get too much out the trunk, obviously some people can get loud in trunks but its a challenge. And i like big *** regular boxes in SUV's usually subs up port back is my favorite.
