Who's system first made you want to get into car audio

Around 1988 or 1989 my uncle brought me over to his friend's house because I was thinking about getting into scuba diving and his friend was a dive instructor. Well, his friend had just finished hooking up a Rockford Fosgate's OG Power 1000 running two channels to a pair of those Die Cast JBL 6x9s and the other two channels to a pair of JBL 12" subs in the back of his Bronco.

Up front, he had a Nakamichi Tape Deck, EC-200, and some kind of Nakamichi and A/D/S combo for his door speakers and amplifiers. At the time that was the loudest and cleanest sounding setup I had ever heard.

Regardless, I remember riding around in that vehicle blasting ZZ Top on the Panama City Beach Strip. Ahh, the good old days. Then again, I am currently running more RMS power to my door speakers than my uncle's friend was running to his subwoofers and 6x9s, so maybe my memory has faded with time!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

my brothers pyramid sub off a lanzar amp got me into audio. it was awesome when i was 7. as you can see by my sig, my tastes in audio have improved a little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

my homeboy had just bought a system for his chevy caprice I forgot what brand of subwoofers and amp they were... but anyways so I rode in his car one day and man the whole car was shaking and my teeth were rattling....after that I started to get into car audio

To start off, My mom is good friends, w/GN'Rs front man, Axle Rose's step-dad. Just after the Appetite album took off I had a dentist appointment (I was probably 12 at the time) and my mom had set it up for me to see Axle's full size Bronco. THAT was my true first intro to car audio. Our local store (now closed), Goodvibes, did the install. I don't know what amp it was other then it was a Phoenix Gold MS amp. His step dad told me it was a 1000 watt amp. the subs where ?????

The sub box was dead center in the rear w/the amp on top of it w/a plexi cover and carpeted all around.

For me it was a friend of a friend probably 88 or 89.

He told me "hey man you gotta hear my new setup in my car".

He then told me about using subwoofers along with other speakers. I had never heard of this before.

We went in the parking lot of where I worked at the time, he turned it on and I heard the subs and was like "wow thats pretty cool". He had 2 12's and I dont know what kind of amp. Got me thinkin.

Not too long after that before I had a system that included subs, he bought a bug and had 2 Pro Pyle 15's powered by a RF amp of some kind. Ish was very loud.

Those were good subs at the time.

I have always been into car audio and my first basic system was an am/fm cassette deck (usually a Kenwood) with an equalizer/booster and soome 6x9s.

My first set of subs were M&M Godfather 12s.

Yeah those were the days!!

My buddy tyler. First he had 2 12" MTX 7500's off a TA81001, then he had 2 MTX 8510's on a TA81001, and ended with 2 MTX 8512's off a TA81001, MTX 6.1's off a TA7804. Now he runs 2 MTX 5512-04 off the TA81001 in a reg cab S10. Hes talking blow through though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Im hoping he can fit 18"s so he can run to MJ-18s ported.

My bro had an old school kicker sub in his thunderbird 5 speed turbo.. shaked my head around

and then I saw some JL subs in some customizing show on TV, it looked sexy

all that got me wanting a system..

my cousin had 2 12in he2's of a directed d2400in a ls400 n his boy was runnin a 12in mojo in a 4th order bp of a memphis mcd1000 in a gs400 both of em hit hard was hooked since then

buddy had a civic hatch with 4 auddiobahn 12's and a concept 2400 watt amp it was actually quite loud it was about 02-03
No shit, now that i think about it, back around 02-03 my buddy chris had a 96 grand prix with a wall where his back seats should be with 6 Audiobahn 15's,his whole trunk had a custom layout of 3 amps bracketed on a big Audiobahn symbol thingie,it was pretty freakin loud, for sure the first major set-up i saw, yeah audiobahn was all the shit back in 02-03!
