Around 1988 or 1989 my uncle brought me over to his friend's house because I was thinking about getting into scuba diving and his friend was a dive instructor. Well, his friend had just finished hooking up a Rockford Fosgate's OG Power 1000 running two channels to a pair of those Die Cast JBL 6x9s and the other two channels to a pair of JBL 12" subs in the back of his Bronco.
Up front, he had a Nakamichi Tape Deck, EC-200, and some kind of Nakamichi and A/D/S combo for his door speakers and amplifiers. At the time that was the loudest and cleanest sounding setup I had ever heard.
Regardless, I remember riding around in that vehicle blasting ZZ Top on the Panama City Beach Strip. Ahh, the good old days. Then again, I am currently running more RMS power to my door speakers than my uncle's friend was running to his subwoofers and 6x9s, so maybe my memory has faded with time!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
