Who bought out who? old companies

Posts like this from newb's that think they're on top of sh!t...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
The whole "same company" idea is WRONG.

You didn't even mention the parent company (AKA the OWNER). Pyle doesn't own anything. It is a brand.

Again - PA doesn't own anything. Epsilon Audio owns all 3.

You can add Planet Audio. Boss actually IS the parent company.

No, but they are both owned by Anaba Group Inc. Along with Visonik.

Just because a few companies/brands are owned by one parent company doesn't make them "the same".

Is a Hummer the same as a Saab?

Is a Lincoln the same as a Mazda?

It's the same principle.

I always wondered why they had the same body through different sub-companies. They do this a lot with trucks, I've found. But, they also did it with Lincoln Town Cars, and they had like 2 or 3 other versions of the same car under different names that were basically the same car with slight alterations. It always confused me. Why not keep it all under one name and have different options for the car?

I don't know if we ever had this thread but I am interested to know who bought out who over the years and when? When did some of the better companies go out of business as well.
I know Maxxsonics bought out Hifonics and Autotek but I don't know when.

I know that Lanzar was bought out by the same company that owns Pyramid.

I know that Linear Power went out of business in 2004.

I know Precision Power was bought out by Directed Electronics.

Could anyone add on to these facts? Please discuss companies such as ADS, Precision Power, Hifonics, Autotek, Audio Art, Rodek, etc.

Thanks,

Clean Soundz

Your'e Wrong Precision power Was Bought out By Sombody Else... Im not allowed to say... But Starts With a S and ends with a M

DEI acquired Precision Power and Orion when they purchased ADST. DEI just sold Precision Power recently to Epislon Electronics, Inc. in November 2008.

ETA: Just to make it easier, Epislon Electronics manufactures fine brands such as SoundStream, Kole Audio, SPL Audio, and Power Acoustik. Hopefully they will reposition PPI as a high-end line, but that is just more Hope and Change BS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

ok maybe i used the wrong words ....what i am saying is the companies that are mentioned together are all part of the same corporation just like Daimler/Chrysler corporation owns, jeep, dodge is the same....but who do people think of they think of dodge most of the time....
you can even talk to the distributors most will tell you that soundstream was bought by power acoustik....why, because power acoustik is the big known line and soundstream is the one that was bought out...

everybody knows there is a "company name/corporation" over everything....

You're right there are different companies but they are all owned by the same corporation and for the most part manufactured at the same place...just some of the companies under the corporation have cheaper product lines and some are higher quality...

why does everyone have to act so technical over everything...

and yes i knew Ma Audio, Clif Designs, Visonik were owned by anaba group inc...i just talked to them today on the phone and i sell all there stuff in our store...

i have been selling car audio for over 10 years with along with my dad i think i know which companies are part of the same corporation

im a dealer for pyle, legacy, lanzar...etc as well as kicker

i may be new to this forum, but im not a "newbie" in car audio by any means
daimler and chrysler are not merged anymore. cerebus owns chrysler and they put a shitty home depot ceo in charge.

They actually do plan to bring back the Art series in 2010. They so far seem a lot more customer service oriented than DEI ever was.
I missed out on the original Black Arts because the local dealer only sold the White Art series. Chances are highly likely that I would purchase a modern day Black Art if the build quality is decent.

As for DEI, they care more about profit margin than customer service because they are greedy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif bastards! Their philosophy is to make it as cheaply as possible and sell it for as much as possible. Case and point, just look at the MAP ($2,499) and the MSRP ($2,999) on their 25th Anniversary HCCA 5000 watt Class D monoblock amp. I heard through the industry grapevine that they are trying to hype these new throwback HCCAs as the next best thing since sliced bread for competition amplifiers:rolleyes:

I think what all of you need to understand is that just because an amp is made over sees and not in this country, does not make it bad. Not all old school, US made amps were the "best" and all this crap I see people raving about on here. I love old school amps but there are plenty I wouldn't care to own. What makes an amp a good amp is:

1. Quality parts

2. Quality design

3. Quality assembly

If you have those three factors covered, you produce a good amp. Look at Sundown, excellent amps that are built well, designed well and parts are of high quality. That, along with excellent customer service, is why Jake sells these amps and why people continue to buy them. Sundowns are not made in the US, does that make them junk?

i laughed at this

one, becuase i agree complete

and two, becuase when the hcca "5000" watt amp (which is only 2500w rms) first came out, i bought one from HCCAfan over on termpro. that fat ****er screwed me over and i never got it. long story short, month or 2 later i got my money back (600) through paypal.

about 4 months later (literally it was 4 months later) a box shows up out of no where on my porch, from DEI.

i opened it up, and it was a brand new hcca d5000 amp LOL

i kept it for a few weeks to make sure my account didnt get charged, it didnt, so i used it for a few weeks then sold it for $500 hahahhahahahh

****er though he pulled a fast one on me, when i ended up winning in the end

any more buyouts lately. I heard the Rockford corporation isn't doing well

I heard recently that Rockford bought out Orion or possibly owned part of Orion. Not sure how true that statement was since it was clearly he say she say...... Anybody have any further information on this??
