Who bought out who? old companies

Kicker never sold out but moved all their buildhouses to China or Korea or something so to me, not same company. You see a ton of Kicker refurb amps but Im not sure if its cause they are junk or tards buy them at BB/CC and dont know wtf they are doing with them.

There's a world of difference between the Korean and Chinese products I've seen, at least to this point //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What about Orion? They're both still around.
You do know that Orion was sold multiple times, right?

My main gripe about the new Orion amps is that they do not make "rated" power and they are marketed with "big numbers" in mind. For example, the HCCA-D1200 monoblock amp puts out 250 watts @ 4 ohms, 400 watts @ 2 ohms, and 600 watts @ 1 ohm. IMHO, that 1200 watt max rating puts them in the same league as Pyramid, Legacy, Boss, Profile, etc.... who also play the big numbers game!

John Durbin argued with me on an open forum stating that Orion's quality post DEI is better, but I respectfully disagree with him on that assumption. Richard LeMay is probably rolling over in his grave right now seeing how his company that once had a passion for building quality amplifiers with the best possible components has become your standard run of the mill Asian build house amplifier with maximum profit in mind!

An Orion amplifier today is nothing more than a name slapped on your standard, run of the mill, overseas, built as cheaply as possible, car stereo amplifier.

Infinity is made by Harman International Industries (AKA) Harman Kardon. Might be more but thats all I know
Infinity, Crown, Becker...There is quite a list of Harman owned companies on their web site.

Infinity/JBL have some amps that are seemingly identical inside.

one of the first subs i ever heard was back in like 99 and it was some old school lanzar subs. i believe DC series and they banged like a *****. im not sure if it was DC series bbut the sub had lanzar on it in american colors

when lanzar went under Gary Kovener (was in Lanzar) started Kove now that name as far as i know has been purchased by us amps IIRC
