WHIS HAS MORE SPL ? 1 15" Cerwin Vega Stroker , Or 2 12" Alpine Type R's? MORE BASS??

please do not open your mouth about something you know nothing about. The type R will smoke the living crap out of the stroker in sq but that dose not mean the stroker is a "fart only sub." With a little intellect you can make almost anything sound decent. For example my stroker setup.
I hope you are not talking to me. I was very careful in providing an open opinion based on relative fact. The Stroker Pro's were built to be burping subs, were they not? And honestly, having owned one, how practical is a Stroker Pro when it comes to daily driveability? And one more thing, I never stated they could not be used for daily driving, did I?

The original post was asking and talking about the original old school style Stroker, not the new Stroker or the Stroker Pro.

I have done much research and read many posts in many different car audio forums about the original Strokers, the new Strokers and the Stroker Pro.

The original Strokers can produce decent SQ while being very Loud with much bass! Remember they are PA subs. The new Strokers sound promising and there is a good review of the Stroker Pro in the new issue of CA&E.

To answer your question, yes the Stroker Pro is more of a 'burping' sub.

THe stroker im getting is dual 4 ohm, If i ever get it in the mail from BUMPN GT, i will be able to test her out, but its been a week with no sho up of the sub on my door step

jeez man, type R > all

Ive never been overly impressed with a stroker daily setup. but what can you expect, that's not their bread n butter. They can be made to sound okay, but not great imo. And they dont get particularly loud on music daily, their linear displacement potential is pretty bad for that type of setup.

The new stroker and pro Ive never heard.

You must be new:laugh:

I have $100 that says you have no idea when the original Strokers were designed, or what their original application was intended for.
You're right, Im not sure on the complete intentions of Czerwinski when he released it. I imagine they were made for more of a Professional Audio type installation, but performed mighty well in competition because of the motor design, and therefor, were not used a lot in practical, every day installations. Why don't you further educate me.

I do I do! Id settle for a cookie though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The original Stroker was conceived in 1972 and was developed for Univeral Studies for use in movie theaters to recreate low frequency special effects. It was actually a requirement at the time that any certified theater have a minimum of ten 18" Strokers before they were allowed to show certain movies (specifically the movie "Earthquake" (released 1974), which won an Acadamy Award for it's special affects).

It wasn't until the early '90s that they were released for car use.

The cheif engineer for Tru Technology, John Fairchild, was actually one of the core engineers who helped design the original Stroker.

Now....how were they exactly designed to be nothing but fart woofers again? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
