Which would you run? CVR12 or CVX12

I'm just thinking it might be overkill for the ZR360.I don;t have the birthsheet on it so who knows what it actually puts out 2ohm bridged.

I had a C12 at 4ohm bridged and it sounded fantastic but blew it stiff within a few hours.

dude the CVX's are AWESOME... trust me. get it. the ZR360, while being about 40% efficient, will give you probably 450-500w, that should make the CVX sing nicely and then you still have headroom if you want to upgrade to more power.

If that is the good idea then fine with me.

I got to thinking that the C12 got smoked on a 4ohm bridged load....now I was going to run a CVR12 on a 2ohm bridged load.

It looked to me as if I was getting into the same problem as before.

The CVX is not a whole lot more than the CVR12 anyways online.

get the cvx........if i understand you right your worried about the amp being too small for a cvx? but thats not a problem you dont have to run subs exactly what there rms ratings are as long as its not too far off

Correct, I was thinking it would make the CVR perform better than the CVX.

I currently have a SVC 4 ohm Type R 12 in the box BUT it does not preform as well as the C12 did.It just takes too much volume to get it going so to speak. The C12 got going easily enough and kept up....well until it fried. The C12 flat sounded marginally better the Alpine IMO.

Would you happen to know if this amp came with a bass knob?I have seen a pic with a harness hangin out but mine did not have it.I'll find the pic and show ya.It's just a two wire harness coming out from behind a panel on the power side of the amp.

I do know this amp is power hungry, I have 4 deep cycles and 30 amp charger on them when the stereo is on.

I have a CVX off 750rms Autotek in a trunk of a focus ST and it sounds good. I need to tweak it a little more and once I add my deadener it will be even better. Hands down the CVX, although the CVR's are not that bad.

Wait till the new Mags come out and I will sell you my CVX uber cheap, lol!

i personally would do the cvx. at our shop we warranty more cvr's of all sizes than they are worth. tinsel leads break FTL!
its so strange...I hear of so many problems with pioneer decks and CVR subs

I've had neither (well, except for my internal HU amp *******...I liked my music a bit louder than the HU cared to give:rolleyes:)
