which way should i point my subs?

I have a 99 4 door accord, with a flip down back seat...I was wondering which way to point my subs...? it's all a matter of personal choice....try it both ways if they're going into a movable enclosure and decide which you like better

Unless you're on the mic and every tenth counts, it doesn't matter. I highly doubt you'll be able to fit those L7s in the right box, chances are it will take up your WHOLE trunk, so face them towards the rear. When I had a huge box in my trunk, facing them towards the rear sounded a WHOLE lot better and you couldn't even tell the difference in volume.

Towards the rear. You'll have a slight gain in SPL, and won't have the problems illustrated in the oh-so-beautiful drawing below

def. towards the rear, if the box is ported, leave port about 6 " from back so the sp can roll out, you will get a better bass sound, and if distortion is present you will not hear it as much nor the port noise if it is ported.

Ok from personal experience....

I have two 15 inch L5s and i had them facing the rear and wanted to see what they would sound like facing fowards so i turned them around. Here is what I found

MUCH MUCH MUCH less rattles with them facing fowards

Higher bass notes around 50 hz were noticeably louder when facing the rear

Lower notes are much louder facing fowards

Overall sound quality is better facing fowards (i figure mostly because the reduction of rattles)

I am keeping mine facing foward but will soon be building a wall.

^^main reason i faced mine forward.

no rattling

i figure the rattle will be louder then some bass and the rattle is super annoying.

even if i lose SPL ill save some money with no deadening, and plus im not competing so tenths dont matter
