which to use,Optima or regular battery??

I was wondering,as far as adding a 2nd battery for the system does it have to be an Optima or can you use a regular car battery?What are the advantages an disadvantages of using a car battery if possible?Also if any of you out are using this method,what brand do you recommend?Thanks to everyone!!

well an optima yellowtop is good as a second battery because they are sealed for one thing. also they are able to withstand vibrations better then normal batteries. also look into kinetik batteries

optimas can also be mounted in any position because they are sealed...

Use a 'Deep Cycle' batt. There are more advantages to using a Car Audio batt over a regular car batt. If using a regular car batt, use a 'Deep Cycle'.

I recommend Stinger, but I have heard that Hawker Odyssey is the same and cost less.

I run a Stinger1000 Power2 & Stinger1700 Power2dB. Love them both! Much more power!!

You can use a "regular" battery.

I personally wouldn't use an Optima. They really aren't that great of a battery.

Also a big fan of the Stinger1000.

GREAT battery, and it comes in a package small enough to mount in the factory location of a honda!

there are wet cell batteries and sealed batteries. wet cells can leak and cant be mounted any which way. if it has 2 caps on the top that can have water added too it it is a wet cell.

oh ok.i wonder with a battery other than an optima or stinger,you probably have to mount it upright only.i don't know.anyone??

Correct. With a standard car battery, you can't mount it sideways.

couple of ways to do it
