Which to buy SSA Icon .. JL Audio W6 .. ID Max or??

Looking to get rid of my dd 2512s and go with a much more sq/sql setup... the 3 subs I've been looking at r listed above I'm leaning more towards w6 and id max tho... I want the sub to kill lows and sing on highs and get loud while doing it my dd's jus aren't cutting it far as sq goes... so which wud u guys get and why

I would say idmax. it can get very loud and still sound extremely good. also very efficient. I dont have any experience with the other subs though.

I have heard all 3 subs. in my personal opinion I would rank the subs in this order:

1. id max

2. jl audio

3. ssa icon

yea im thinking ID used but 500 a piece is a bit steep... lookin for some used ones or 13w6v2 but i need to get my dd's sold first or traded...

Um....why would you want your sub to "sing on the highs"???

IMO the W6 sounds better than the IDMax. The Icons are also very capable natural sounding woofers. I think you'd be happy with any of them. Get whatever you find the best deal on...

I have my opinions of course, but the three drivers excel in their own nitche. If power handling and sheer output is not a worry, just accurate sound, go W6. If you want a more power handling and a bump up in output, with very similar sound, go IDMax. The W6v2's can be very different to what you're used to. Don't take this the wrong way, but from how you described your goals, I wouldn't recommend them to you.
