This is what I have:

Eclipse 5423 HU

Eclipse 21010 EQ

Orion 3002 (speaker amp) 75x2 @ 4 ohm

Orion 3002 (sub amp) 300x1 @ 1 ohm

Diamond Audio D362i Speakers (front)

Boston Acoustic FX6 (rear fill)

This is what I am looking at:

Kicker CVR 12"

Diamond Audio D3 12"

I am just looking for a little more bass than my current JL W6.V1. I know both subs will be underpowered, but I have heard the D3 @ 200 rms and it hit pretty well in a ported enclosure. Either sub will be going into a ported enclosure between 30-34 hz. The car it is going into is a mustang. Thanks for any input. BTW I am open to suggestions to other subs at the same price.

If you want some cheap lower end and not a ton of thump go with the Sony's in my sig. One 10" in a sealed box will give you plenty of low end and a decent little amount of thump too. Plus, they're only $60. Or, get 4 for $240 and parallel them all down to 1 OHM. Might not be enough room in a stang for that though.

I say go with the Daimond D3. Stay away form Sony Xplods.

wow, i didn't know this was a popularity contest.

i think the xplods are fine.

just because they're not $500 subs and can't handle 2000W doesn't mean they're bad....they're just entry level....

it's amazing how people will bust on a sub just because they don't like it.....

i stand by my recommendation......

and i'm pretty sure i don't smoke crack.........

i'm not saying those particular models are that type of sub. But some people on here seem to think that if it's not a supersub it's crap......

the diamonds are dayum good subs from everything i've read and heard of them

It's not. Plain and simple fact, Sony subs ****.
The SS is double the price. But far more than double the performance. And is a perfect match, that would compliment your system.

I had two of the 10" Sony Xplods and they blew within a week of owning them. And I was underpowering them. I wasnt clipping them or doing anything of the sort. They are just PIECE OF SHIT subs

hey thanks for all of the input. i will prob. end up going with the D3. i am not a big sony fan, and the ss is just a little out of my price range - i am trying to stay within my budget for once.

has anybody had any experience with this:

(no those arent my specs) - but i was curious if it produces accurate design ideas. thanks!
