Which Sub/s for SPL?

Ok I am about to start my new build for SPL in my car.

I have a total of 7.8 cu ft to use.

The amp I am set on (about 98%sure of) is the Stetsom 2k6(benched at 3k @1ohm on 12.4 volts and more at .5, which I can get for a good price brand new, and the reason going with this amp is bc I will mostly only compete NSPL which does class by amp draw which the 2k6 has 175.

The subs I am considering are pretty open. As I will have one box for daily and the other for SPL.

Anyway the sub/s I am thinking about are:

2 AQ sdc2.5 12(ran @ 4ohm for daily, burping at 1 ohm)

1 Fi btl 12

2 RE SE 12s(Maybe even SXs if I can find used)

Other ideas are welcome, looking to spend less than $400 for the substage

if you can fit sx's in your budget i would do that.

Anyways, if you really do have ~3kw on tap I would look at some DD 3512's or maybe some FI BL's

yes this I know about the 2k6... the problem with the 3512s is it owuld be hard to find some in the 400 range for 2....I still do need to contact Alan and see what he has available.

If you're gonna compete NSPL and run Stetsom amps then you might as well get DD subs like everyone else also. If you don't you will hear about it at every event.

True that, maybe a 9512 or something.... but I honestly dont care about hearing it... Guys in that class competing were with DC subs and I thnk 147.xx was the highest

As stated b4 with going with the SXs for the extra money, if I was to do that I would just go with the hdc3s instead

the AQ sdc2.5's did pretty good, i think someone on here hit 143 or 144 with one 12 at like 50hz so 2 would probably do pretty well especially for the money.

yea I think it was Jeremiah that did a 145 with 1 12 on about 800rms in his explorer, which is what really got me interested in trying these subs out

I always see lots of DD subs for sale on here and other forums. Shouldn't be hard to put a pair together (or even a single 9512).

$400 is a little on the cheap side though. I would really look at the Fi BL's if you want a pair of subs. I don't think you have enough power to run 2 of the larger subs to their potential.
