Which line and size for more output?

I have 2 polk audio MM1040 subs and an AQ 1200D amp.

I want to try image dynamic subs, and i like the polks, but wish they had more output. I know most of u have probably not heard either my subs or the ID subs but your input and guess is appreciated.

The ID 10s have the same power specs as the polks i have. So will they be roughly the same output but perhaps the IDs sound better?

The ID 12s have same power but more cone area so is this what i need to do? Or will the ID 10s have more output than the polks without me needing to get these 12s?

Or what about IDQ 10s? they want 500 rms which i could either give them 870 or 1200. im sure they would rather have the 1200 but i have never ran a system at 1 ohm so not sure about that.

ID has always been one of my favorite companies. Great products, great service and support, with enthusiasts and competitors throughout the organization. If budget isn't a problem, Id chose the IDQ's over the ID's.

The ID 10 v3 costs $160 from woofersetc its rated at 400w rms 17xmax

The IDQ 12 v2 costs $150 from woofersetc its rated at 350w rms 13.5xmax

which will have better sound quality and which will have more output?

Polk is not known as a high output sub company...they truly focus on sq...IDs sound great but i believe will get louder than the polks

Output is seen as something from the sub itself, when really, its all about the box.

You can make a 12 inch sony xplod sound like a somewhat beastly sub in the right box.

Its not all about the box... Yes u can make a 12 sony xplod sound decent with a good box, but its still only going to be so loud.

If everything u said was true, why dont we all buy some of the cheapest subs so we dont spend much on our systems and spend more money on other things we want?

Im using a custom built box and im overpowering them and i would still really like more output.

He's not saying you can hit 150 with that just almost 90% of the time when people say their subs **** it's probably because its in a hoopty prefab and installed by their "friend" who has 3 different subs and says he pounds hardcore

I've used IDQ v.2's and they are some nice sounding subs, I'm not much for about and 2 12's is more than enough for me. I had them in 4cu/ft tuned to 33hz

I understand that, but those retards probably wouldn't be looking at ID who is based on SQ would they?

I have had 2 RF punch 2 12s and underpowered they still blew away the 10s i have, and i expected that, but i feel like 10s wont be enough for me unless i go with really expensive ones, like DD or SA. However im not willing to spend more than 150$ for 1 sub or ill just go back to RF and sure there will be better out there but ill be satisfied.

I really want to try ID because everyone on here has said their great and best SQ. I dont think i need IDMax to get enough output but idk which between the following to try. my goal is to have more output than the polks i have now.

you'd be suprised how loud one high powered sub will get with less box space. I would get the ID10's

Sounds good as long as it does have a little more output because im sure the SQ is better than the polks. But if its similar output its not really worth spending the $ then selling my polks and losing money.
