the d3100 will run around 300 used maybe a bit less..I say best bet is to try and get the 2 c d batteries man it will help the most...

stinger spv70. Great battery has been compared to the HC2400 and done better numbers than the 2400.

Might be a little out of budget. But a Data Safe hf500 would own any of the batteries listed. All the canadians and euros are using the Data Safe 400 because the 500 exceeds the size requirements so the 400 might even work too.

One would work but hell if you can fit 2in your budget or just a hair over I would for a possible upgrade down the road.also these only show up from time to time..
